Bubbles is a very sweet nine-and-a-half-year-old, Long Hair Dachshund who came into our care after her owner lost her job where she worked from home throughout her entire career. Her new job required her to be away for 10 to 12 hours each day. Out of love, she decided it would be best for her to go to a new home where someone is present most of the day. She is sweet-natured, enjoys leisurely walks and occasionally gets the zoomies and scampers around the yard. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and cats and she has a calm, quiet, and laid-back demeanor. Bubbles is fully house-trained and goes to the door when she needs to go out. She will also come find you and let you know it’s time. She is a very good eater, well-behaved, and offers affection to other family members or canine friends. Health-wise, she is in excellent condition, with bloodwork results within normal limits, rabies and distemper vaccinations up-to-date, and she recently underwent a dental cleaning. This lovable soul would make a fantastic addition to any family, bringing joy and companionship for many years to come

Meet Peaches (and we should add “and Cream” to that!) She’s a 1â€Â׀-year-old Dachshund mix with an award – winning personality. She’s good with other dogs as well as her foster’s cat, and she’s good with kids in general. Due to her small size of only 10 pounds, however, we would prefer she not go to a home with small children who don’t always know their own strength when playing. Peaches is a good girl who loves everyone! A true delight! Shadow was placed in a home about 5 yrs ago. Unfortunately, her owner needs to relocate and is unable to take her along. No negative comments, life happens. Shadow is around 7 yrs old and 20 pounds. She was originally a feral dog and while she has come very far she isn’t going to be a social butterfly with everyone and adopters will need to be mindful of giving her time to get to know them. She is up to date on her vaccinations and of course spayed. She enjoys an open door on her crate during the day so she can come and go. At night her crate is shut. She walks well on a leash and while dog friendly isn’t a huge fan of playing with others unless it’s her huge collection of stuffies. Shadow is still living with her adopter but will likely be moving back to her original foster near Warrenton, VA. Micky is a tiny, small-breed puppy, likely a Dachshund mix. He was picked up as a stray and taken to the shelter. The shelter was completely full, so he was at serious risk of euthanasia. He is now safely in an AFH foster home and looking for a home of his own.
