Story
Koda was a surrender from another local rescue. He is deaf but has been doing great learning sign language. He loves his foster buddies and plays great with both the tiny puppies and the big rough dogs. Koda has adjusted great to living inside and with a doggy door is completely housetrained. He is not chewing up shoes or phones cords or anything like that. Koda is a puppy but doesn't have that seek and destroy puppy vibe. He loves to take walks and would be a wonderful companion for outdoor activities or he can be just as comfortable laying beside you on the couch. Special needs dogs are the best dogs for anyone wanting to really feel like they saved one that needs it the most. Koda lives in his foster home with 22 fosters and his foster dad says he is a "stand out". FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. Koda's adoption fee is $275. The adoption fee Includes Age-Appropriate Vaccinations (DA2PPV, Bordetella, Rabies), Deworming, Spay/Neuter, Microchip, Flea/Tick/Heartworm Prevention, and Sheltering. Adult Dogs are Heartworm Tested and Treated as Needed. FOCCAS does not DNA test or guarantee breed. Story
Cooper is a 4-year-old Kelpie mix with a gentle, thoughtful spirit who just needed time to feel safe. When he first arrived in his foster home, it was clear he hadn’t had much (if any) socialization with people or everyday life inside a home. Regular household sounds, movement, even the TV were overwhelming. His crate became his safe place, and he would choose to go there often just to feel secure. With patience and consistency, Cooper has slowly blossomed. Now he spends most of his day resting calmly on the couch or laying in the kitchen while meals are being made. He used to be nervous in the car, but now he gets excited to go for rides. He didn’t understand treats at first, but now he joyfully pops up on his hind legs to ask for one. Cooper does very well with dogs of all sizes and is respectful of cats. He is crate trained and doing well with potty training—he hasn’t had an accident in the house in about a week. Though he is around 4 years old, he still has a bit of youthful playfulness in him. He loves belly rubs, gentle massages, chewing on toys, and watching the world go by from the cat perch. On walks, he is calm, rarely pulls, and often looks back to “check in” with his person—he truly wants to do things right. Because unpredictable movement can still make him nervous, Cooper would do best in a calm home without young children. He needs someone who can offer patience, steadiness, and understanding. Cooper has already come so far. With a loving, reassuring person by his side, he will continue to open up and become the loyal, tender, devoted companion he is meant to be. Story
Dee Dee is a 1 year old and a Dalmatian mix. She has been in foster since she was around 4 months old and knows how to use the doggie door. She is a bit skittish and cowers with sudden movements so a home without children is a must. Dee Dee doesn’t like abrupt affection so she needs a patient and adult only home. With dogs, she can be a little bit of a bully given the temperament of others in the pack. If there is another dog in the home, she would do best with another pup who’s isn’t overly dominant but not a pushover either as she will test them to see she if she can be the dominant dog. She needs another pup who can be her equal. Dee Dee really is a sweet girl who will be a loyal and loving companion for a single person or adult only family. Dee Dee is spayed, fully vetted, heartworm negative and microchipped. Our pups come with one month of free pet insurance when you adopt. Amira is a goofy girl who absolutely loves her people! She’s happiest when she’s right by your side—whether you’re doing chores around the house or settling in for a movie night, she’ll be there keeping you company. Amira does great with other dogs and kids, and she loves playing tug-of-war with her dog friends or proudly carrying a stuffy around like it’s her prized possession. Food is definitely one of her favorite things! When it’s time to eat, she gets so excited she’ll bounce all the way to her kennel like a little bucking bronco. She knows how to sit, and when you ask her to “down,” she’ll happily flop right onto her back. Amira walks on a leash and does well, though she can occasionally get nervous and put on the brakes—but a few treats and some encouragement get her moving again. She’s ready for her forever home and would do great as an only dog or with canine siblings. Amira is just looking for a family to love—and to stick close to forever.
