Story
Cadpig is a beautiful young Dalmatian whose journey to finding a forever home hasn't been an easy one. She came to us along with her sister, and while we don't know everything about her past, we have reason to believe she experienced neglect, very little socialization, and possibly spent much of her life living outdoors. When Cadpig first arrived at the rescue, she had cuts and bruises and was absolutely terrified. She was so frightened that she wouldn't even leave her kennel. The world was a very scary place for this girl, and she had no reason yet to believe that people were there to help her.Since coming into our care, Cadpig has been vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed. She's beginning a new chapter, but we want to be very honest about what she will need from her future family.Cadpig is not going to be a dog who settles into a new home overnight. The traditional 3-3-3 rule may not apply to her. She will need much more time, patience, consistency, and understanding. She needs to feel safe before she can begin to trust, and her adopter will need to let her set the pace.A recent change in foster homes also reminded us just how important security is for Cadpig. She attempted to escape during the transition. Thankfully, she didn't get far, but it reinforced that she needs a very secure environment and careful management, especially while adjusting to new surroundings. What Cadpig needs most is someone who understands that trust is earned, not expected. Someone who won't rush her, won't give up on her, and will celebrate the little victories along the way.We know her journey may be longer than some, but we believe there is someone out there who will see her potential and give her the safe, loving life she's always deserved.Cadpig doesn't need someone to fix her overnight. She needs someone willing to show her, one day at a time, that the world can be a good place after all.We require professional obedience training from a certified trainer for ALL adoptions. Junie is a lover. She loves people, sniffs, kids and snacks. Her best day ever includes pup cups, a short walk and chilling with her person. She may be deaf, but life for her is 100% if she has a person to love by her side. If you are looking for a girl to watch movies with, Junie is your girl.
