Story
A28639 Gaston is a black colored, approximately 2-year-old, 53-pound, neutered male, Australian Kelpie mix. He entered the shelter as an owner surrender on 06-14-2025 due to the fact they felt his energy needed a bigger yard to play in. Saying he probably needs a new owner that understands the breed. Gaston is a friendly, calm and easy to handle boy here at the shelter. He is patiently waiting for you at the kennel door, ready to go out for a walk. Our staff describes him as a sweet, gentle soul who warms up to new people quickly. He loves meeting new people and getting all the love and attention they will give. He is well mannered and does not jump up on anyone. He was easy to leash and eager to go for a walk. He was well behaved during our walks with no pulling, just a nice little pep in his step. He will need some training as he did not really respond to any commands. Staff got him to “sit” once after repeated commands. However, they say he is not naughty and is a well-mannered boy. He shows a friendly interest in other dogs here at the shelter, with a happy tail wag. Not reactive to the dogs walking by or the ones barking at him. The previous owner says he is house broken and has lived with other dogs and cats, but not children. They did say he became the protector and was stand offish to new people in their home. Gaston will be a fun-loving family member in his new forever home.

Story
Kora Jean is seeking love, activity and snuggles. This girl is smart and would like to be able to use her brain. She is a fan of walks and may need some support learning what is the best style for her...leash or harness. Maybe a visit to the pet store for a shopping treat will help her decide.

Story
A28376 Kelsey is a brown, tan with white colored, approximately 1-year-old, 30-pound, spayed female, Kelpie / Corgie mix. She entered the shelter as a stray on 06-04-2025 and was altered by our medical staff. Kelsey is a friendly, but timid and shy girl here at the shelter. She is still trying to figure out this shelter environment and why she is here. Our staff says she is still unsure right now and although she likes affection, she doesn’t come ask for it. She will just sit there very still while you pet her. She likes to be next to someone, but again well behaved just sitting quietly. She is going to need a patient owner who will give her the love and time to decompress and help her with her confidence. She was easy to leash and walked well on the leash. She will need some training as she did not respond to any commands. She shows no interest in other dogs here at the shelter and is clearly scared by the loud barking bigger dogs. Kelsey will be a loyal, loving companion her new forever home.
