Story
Come meet me and 100+ of my adoptable friends at Louie's Legacy Animal Rescue's MEGA adoption event, Home for the Holidays! Saturday, December 13th, 2025 at Paradise Island in Staten Island from 11am - 3pm! Meet Skelly! Skelly is a 3 year old, 50 lb stunning Dalmatian who is looking for his forever home. Skelly is a sweet, affectionate pup with a heart full of love for the people he trusts. Once he feels safe, he becomes the most loyal companion you could ask for. He adores being close to his person—whether that means curling up next to you, leaning in for pets, or quietly keeping you company throughout the day. This handsome boy loves going for walks and exploring the world at a gentle pace. It’s one of his favorite ways to bond, and you’ll see his personality shine as he trots happily by your side. Since he is shy around little ones, he would probably do best in a home with older children or adults. Skelly will greet you every morning with the signature Dalmatian toothy grin to show you how happy he is to see you. He loves chewing on bully sticks, running after a ball, and is perfectly happy snoozing away on his dog bed. Despite his size, he’s convinced he’s a lap dog and will gently try to snuggle right into your lap. Skelly is 100% potty trained, crate trained (though he can also be trusted uncrated), and sleeps quietly all night. If you are looking for a loving companion that is sure to turn heads, Skelly might just be the dog for you! Skelly is being fostered in Staten Island, NY. His adoption fee is $475. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
