Story
When dogs have to come back to the shelter it is incredibly heartbreaking.  Camo was adopted from us in 2019.  Due to family issues in the home, he has been returned through no fault of his own.  He is now almost 5 years old and wondering why he is here. His world has been turned upside down.   Camo is very friendly and smart!  He has loved everyone he's met here at the shelter.  Catahoula's make loyal companions.  They are working dogs, active and highly intelligent.  They have a gorgeous blue merle coat. He is a big boy and is sadly very overweight!  We have him on a healthy diet now and are giving him daily exercise.  We are looking for an active home that will make sure to keep up with a good exercise regimen and make sure those pounds come off so he can back to a healthy weight.  He Has lost 15lbs so far!!   Camo loved his big fenced yard in his previous home and enjoys running here in our fenced area so we are hopeful his new adopters will have the same so he can enjoy that as well.   Happiest as the only pet. Super smart!  Knows quite a few commands.  Loves to fetch the tennis ball.  100% housebroken.  *Per JSAC policy, puppies and kittens under 6 months will not be adopted to families with children under the age of 6 years.April 28, 2024, 6:27 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.wagoninn.rescuegroups.org Ethel is a beautiful girl who is looking for a home! Ethel is with our partner rescue in Louisiana but hoping to come to NJ on our next transport. We offer a foster to adopt trial for approved adopters. Ethel is described as calm and low key. Ethel gets along well with other dogs and she does well in her crate. Ethel LOVES treats. She also likes to Netflix and chill. She is house trained and good on the leash. Ethel is fixed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. She completed treatment for heartworm. Her adoption fee is $450.  Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home.   How to Adopt Me! If you are interested in learning more about me, and possibly making me part of your family, please go to  wagoninn.rescuegroups.org . Click on the orange Online Adoption Application button to fill out an application. A Wag On Inn volunteer will be in touch soon! Story
Meet Nick! Nick is a beautiful 11-week old 17-lbs male Catahoula (or possibly blue heeler) mix. He is a lively puppy that enjoys going on walks with his adult dog buddy, Moon. Nick loves to greet new people with fierce wags of his tail and many puppy kisses. He has been wormed and up-to-date on vaccines. Nick sleeps through the night in his crate and is mostly housebroken at his current foster's home. He sits for a "cookie" and is very attentive. Nick was surrendered to Animal Control at about 4-5 weeks old but luckily the advocate was present and found him an immediate foster so he did not have to stay in the shelter. Nick is ready for adoption in the NJ area around the 19th of February. He will do best with a family who will include him in daily activitieis and has a secure fenced yard. Nick would probably enjoy the copany of a gentle confident adult dog and can be with supervised children. He may require some formal training as he is high energy and very smart. If you are interested in adopting, please submit an online Adoption Application: https://bridges2safety.wufoo.com/forms/bridges-to-safety-adoption-application/ If you experience any problems with the form or have questions, call Ellen at (732) 859-8915 or email us at bridgesdogsmail@gmail.com.

Story
Meet our Catahoula mix babies of between 3 and 4 months.  All girls, they make a fine litter of happy and energetic puppies.  They love to play with each other as well as other dogs, kids, and even their foster’s cat.  These girls all wear short coats, but of different colors.  Sofia is gray with white; Sema is tan with white; Shalene is white with black (and a bit of tan) and Sadie is brown with white.  Some bear Catahoula markings while others’ faces are enchantingly wrinkled in Sharpei fashion.  Between 20 and 25 puppy pounds, they will each mature to about 60. What a delight these baby girls are!  (posted 2/3/24, TN)  **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption: $395 which covers quarantine, shots, worming, medical records, spaying/neutering, microchip and an Alabama State Health Certificate.   Transport, if needed  $160   We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip . We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs.  April 28, 2024, 11:37 pm

Story
I couldn’t have asked for a better helper dog! Meet Thomas who recently joined us from Louisiana. Thomas greeted our group of 10 trainees gently and respectfully, going to each with a gentle welcome gazing at each with soft, sweet eyes. At only one year old and 35 pounds, he’s already won the hearts of staff and volunteers. He’s perfected his snuggling skills and enjoys working on them every day! Thomas is amazing on leash as each new trainee commented on how easy he is (every walk starts with a hug),he’s housetrained, and a perfect gentleman in a home. He loves playtime with his dog friends, and then cuddling in his bed or couch next to his person. He’s a gentle and respectful cuddler. A home in the suburbs is the perfect situation for this sweet dog who is neutered, microchipped and up to date with appropriate vaccinations. Please complete this application to meet him: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/POSH/Dog
