Story
DNA results are in! Meet Joni!! Joni is approximately 2-3 years old, 62lbs. DNA results = Dalmatian mix! We are calling her breed;100% Good Girl ;-) Joni was a stray in Avon Lake and she was named after the wonderful resident that helped us get her to safety. Joni is house-trained and knows basic commands; she is very smart! Love-A-Stray had her spayed and completely vaccinated. She did have parasites so she is being de-wormed and she tested negative for HW. She is a very nice girl! Abbe, with Affinity K9 evaluated her and Joni is dog friendly and is a confident female. Joni does follow her nose- she is a real SNIFFER ;-). That is why we think she is mixed with some sporting-hunting breed.
Joni needs a temporary foster home while we are searching for her forever home, please consider fostering Joni. Since Joni follows her nose, we are looking for a home with a fenced in yard (not electric). We do not have any history with Joni and cats, so if you have a cat we would have our trainer evaluate the interaction. Joni has encountered cats while the volunteers walk her and Joni did not displayed any negative behavior, however, the cat was not in motion or in the home, so she would need a formal cat test.
