Story
Ghost is sponsored by River & Ben.Hi, I’m Ghost!I’m a pit bull–Dalmatian mix, which basically means I’m a marshmallow with feelings. I can be a little shy when we first meet, but once I learn to trust you, my fun and excitable personality really comes out. Personal space will become a thing of the past once I know you’re safe!I like to use my voice when I’m stressed and would do best as the only dog in a home or with a calm dog (I tend to mirror the feelings of those around me). The shelter can feel pretty overwhelming for me — all that barking and constant activity amps me up and makes it hard for me to show my true, snuggly self. Because of this kennel stress, I’m not always able to show potential adopters just how loving and sweet I really am.My humans here at the shelter are open to a foster-to-adopt situation so I can decompress outside of the shelter and show you who I truly am in a home environment. Once I’m out of the chaos, my cuddly, loyal personality really shines.Apartment life isn’t really my style — I’d love a home with a fenced backyard where I can feel safe, happy, and get my energy out with zoomies. With a little patience and understanding, I promise to be the most devoted and loving companion. If you are interested in meeting me, the shelter is open Monday through Saturday 11am – 6pm and Sunday 11am – 4pm. If you’d like to schedule an appointment, check out the pets’ profile on our website at newberganimals.com to fill out an application and email to frontdesk@newberganimals.com.Due to COVID-19, we are currently only open by appointment. Please follow the instructions on each pet profile.

Story
Bali is an energetic and brilliant blue heeler. She loves a task. Great at playing fetch and running for hours. She has sweet demeanor and can be a cuddle bug but at the same time has no problem being independent and doing her own thing. Unfortunately, my work and living situation has drastically changed and she will do best with more space and attention that I’ll be able to provide.

Good with kids, Good with dogs, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
I have had so many chances in my young life. Seriously...I was found with four siblings at about 2.5 weeks old, dumped in a box at the post office... we were so, so sick and close to death. My rescue mom really worked hard to get us healthy and LIVE. And we did! About 6 weeks later, we all got parvo..... and my rescuer was able to nurse all of us out of it! All my siblings have been adopted, and I am ready too! I am somewhat shy and will take time to settle into my new family. But I will adjust. I am best with another dog, calm and confident, because I will mirror that energy. As a gorgeous catahoula/whippet mix, I have plenty of energy and I love to play! Fetch and chase games are my favorite . I am adoptable in Texas, I need to meet my family and you need to meet me! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)

Story
Marlene’s journey started on the streets, before her foster was finally able to bring her to safety. Now she’s warm, loved, and ready to find her forever family. This sweet girl is shy at first, but once she feels safe, her gentle personality shines. She’s also won over by food—a few treats go a long way in helping her feel comfortable and connected. Marlene thrives with the companionship of other dogs. Having a confident canine friend boosts her own confidence, and she can happily play with them all day long. She is crate trained and housebroken. Marlene would do best in a calmer home with older children, as quick or unexpected movements can still startle her. With patience, kindness, and a steady routine, she’ll continue to blossom into the affectionate, loyal companion she was always meant to be. Marlene is ready for a family who can give her the love and reassurance she’s been waiting for. Local adoption fee is $200(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)
