Pandora

Dalmatian Australian Cattle Dog

Female, 5 yrs 6 mos
Stephenville, TX
Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Details
Not good with kids, Good with dogs, Not good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Pandora was adopted from us in December 2023, and was brought back due to extreme food aggression. Pandora is very sweet and loves pretty much everyone she meets. She does have a tendency to jump on you for attention. She is good with kids but not livestock. She is NOT cat friendly. She does well with other dogs as long as there is NO food involved. Even if her people are eating food and another dog is around she will cause issues. When food is not involved she plays and does so well with other dogs. Because of her reactions, she may do best as the only dog in the home that'll take her for playdates with other dogs. She loves water (both pools and the hose) and going on walks. She will jump out of shorter fencing, so 6ft tall chain link or privacy fencing is recommended. She is good on a leash and does well crated. She has done well while in her inside kennel so may be housebroken. Pandora is VERY high energy and spend most of her day pacing her kennel and barking. She's got a very persistent, high bark so she may not do well in an apartment setting but we always recommend a foster period just to make sure. She is spayed, vaccinated with DHPP and Bordetella, microchipped, and heartworm negative and on prevention. She is due for a rabies vaccination. All adoptions are first come first serve the day of availability. ECHS does not reserve adoptable animals for the public. Please note that availability is subject to change at any point in time per ECHS discretion.

Granbury, TX
Size

Details
Good with kids, Good with dogs, Not good with cats, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Oliver is sweet and loves to play fetch. I got him in S. Fort Worth where he was about to be abandoned. He was overweight and couldn't run at the time. With smaller portions and lots of play, he has gotten slimmer and way happier. He loves kids and is so sweet with them. He is house broken, knows basic commands, and is very easy to train. He rarely barks, unless he needs out. He is a bit anxious but it has eased up with love and care since I got him. He is on a flea preventative.

Catahoula Leopard Dog Mixed Breed (Medium)

Female, 1 yr 6 mos
Stephenville, TX
Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Details
Not good with kids, Good with dogs, Not good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Julie was surrendered because she was no longer wanted. As you may be able to tell from her eyes, she does have some visual impairments that she has likely had since birth. She is still opening up here at the shelter and is extremely skittish. She will try and squeeze past you once the kennel is open. She is sweet once she realizes you're there to give her love. She will take time getting used to you and a new environment. She pulls on a leash. She is able to scale chain link fences, so she will need a secure fence and possibly not be left outside for too long. She did good with our dogs during testing but since she is high energy and visually impaired, some dogs may not like her being in their space. We do always highly recommend a meet and greet with any current household dogs. We do not recommend smaller dogs or cats. She will need to be fed separately as she has shown food aggression towards dogs. She does show some barrier aggression with strangers and dogs. Julie is fully vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, and heartworm negative and on prevention.

Quartz

Catahoula Leopard Dog Australian Cattle Dog

Female, 5 yrs 3 mos
Stephenville, TX
Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Details
Not good with kids, Not good with dogs, Not good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Quartz was found as a stray in 2023 and not claimed, then adopted in 2024 and returned after a few weeks because she was not getting along with the other dogs. She is a lean girl that prefers any kind of people food to dog food, and she does not finish a meal usually. Her fosters made a note that she doesn't really eat her dry food unless it is mixed in with wet food. She is a counter surfer, and will get into the trash to find herself some treats. Her previous name was "Shenzi" which she does respond to. She has done okay with dogs in passing in a calmer setting, but has been dog reactive at the shelter and did not do well in a home with other dogs. She is a very sweet lady and is very high energy. She knows "sit" and "shake." She will tear her way out of a crate if she is left unsupervised in one. She loves going on car rides and being able to stick her head out of the window. She loves being outside with her people, but if left unattended she will jump a fence. Her fosters said that she never barked while she was with them. Quartz would do best in an only pet home. Quartz loves cuddles. She is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative (also on prevention). All adoptions are first come first serve the day of availability. ECHS does not reserve available animals for the public for any reason. Please note that availability is subject to change at any point in time per ECHS discretion.

Stephenville, TX
Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Details
Not good with kids, Good with dogs, Not good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Bella was adopted from us back in 2022 and returned due to her jumping their fences and running in the road. She is a very sweet and energetic dog. She is very anxious here and does not like being cooped up. Her previous adopters stated she is a very good dog who loves other dogs and playing. She can jump fences and will need a tall privacy fence if she is going to be left outside unsupervised. She has never met a stranger and does good with kids. She does pull on a leash and is said not to do well in crates. She does not do well with cats as she chases them and it is unknown how she is with livestock. She does well in cars but if the window is rolled down too far, she will jump out through them. Her previous owners stated she is treat motivated. Bella has received her DHPP and Bordetella vaccines. She is spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention. Her adopters will need to get her a rabies vaccine.
