Story
I’m unfortunately needing to rehome this sweet puppy. He was adopted from PACC about 6 weeks ago. 10ish month old Doberman mix. He’s incredibly sweet and loves adults, kids, and dogs. He is eager to learn and so far is house trained and knows “sit”. I unfortunately cannot keep him after discovering he can clear my 5’ ranch fences (and does so as soon as I open the door) and have had to rely on support to let him out during the day while I’m working (my hours have increased). He needs a lot of affection and training, as well as a well-fenced yard. he is neutered and microchipped He is very loving and deserves a good home with someone who has time and space to provide structure and consistency, as well as frequent exercise! He is a great running buddy.

Story
Bruno is handsome hunk who is 100% guaranteed to win your heart! Here’s what one volunteer said about him:“I love Bruno so much! He’s calm, friendly, and mellow- just an easygoing guy to spend time with. We often explore the desert together and he loves taking in the sights and smells. He’s responsive to his handler and enjoys pets and affection. When I return him to his kennel, I always get some good smooches and Bruno will even flip over for a belly rub. Such a sweet big boy!”Bruno has had a revolving door of kennelmates and has been great with them all. When meeting other dogs in playgroup Bruno has been social and playful. He’d like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to make sure it’s a good fit. Ask to meet Bruno today!!

Story
Doberman Pinschers are known to be alert, fearless, affectionate, energetic, highly trainable, loyal, and friendly family dogs. PACC’s resident dobie mix, Dennis, sure possesses many of these delightful traits! His volunteer friends adore him and shared the following:“Dennis was a very good boy on both of our outings this week. He sat for me and is a great walker and very attentive. On the way back he said “hi” to all the staff we walked past. What a nice pup!”During his foster period he was very playful, energetic, and loving! He is described as a velcro dog! He is housebroken, non-destructive in the home and does well in car rides! He likes to play with other dogs and would do well in a high energy home! Dennis shares his kennel with another PACC pup and has been social, playful and easygoing when meeting other dogs in playgroup. He’d like to meet any future furry roommates before heading home to ensure a good fit. Affectionate, goofy boy Dennis is ready to find his furever home- could it be with you??

Story
In Chinese, the word “yu” means “to meet” or “encounter.” We think this is the perfect name for our doggy Yu, as he is as curious as they come! He loves to explore his surroundings and has a heart for adventure and encountering new smells, people and places! Shelter staff have said that Yu is mellow and easy to handle. He’s a sweetie who can be shy at first but warms up quickly. Yu’s volunteer friends enjoy spending time with him, with one sharing:“Yu is a very curious, handsome dog! I took him and his kennelmate out to a play yard. He was easy to leash up and walk to the yard. Yu is an inquisitive guy who spent most of his time exploring the yard, sniffing all the smells. As he explored, he would intermittently come over to me for treats. He was very treat-motivated, which will be a great asset in helping a new family train him in his furever home. He is a truly stunning boy!”Yu recently spent time in the community on both day trips and pawjama parties and his new friends had great things to share about him! They said that he was cute and adorable, active, loving, curious, and enthusiastic! He went for walks and hikes and did great meeting lots of new people. One friend shared:“Yu was so amazing to foster for a PJ party! He is very active and enjoys being outside. He does very well with people and is very friendly. He does not pay much attention to other dogs, nor would he bark at them. As he got more comfortable, he was such a calm little lovebug. Yu was such a treat to have for the night! He also enjoys looking at himself in mirrors (he must know he is so handsome)! I hope he gets adopted soon!”Yu shares his kennel politely and has been social and tolerant when meeting other dogs in playgroup, mainly keeping to himself and exploring the yard. If you’re looking for an active, awesome guy to join you on your adventures near or far, Yu would love to meet you!

Story
Piper was the main character in the show Orange is the New Black…not that we`re comparing kennel life to prison life. I mean sure, there are some similarities… you spend most of your time indoors with a couple of daily exercise breaks, you don`t get to choose your roommate, and the food can be a bit monotonous. But, you don`t have to wear orange! In fact most of the inmates don`t wear any clothes at all, because, you know… they`re dogs. Also, you don`t have to break the law to end up in the shelter- Piper certainly didn`t! To top it all off, Piper can leave anytime- she just needs to find a family first! #FreePiperPiper was originally adopted through a rescue group and was in a home for about a year and half before first coming to the shelter in 2022. She was housebroken in that home and would politely bork when she needed to be let out to do her business. She slept at the foot of her people`s bed and they told us that she loves attention, and to run and play fetch. Her only request is that she not be disturbed while sleeping- a girl needs her beauty rest!! Piper was adopted, but her family is moving so she’s back on the search for her happily ever after. In her most recent home, she was described as affectionate, playful, friendly and cuddly. She was also housebroken and crate trained and reportedly did well with kids.Piper has been social, tolerant, and easygoing when meeting other dogs in playgroup. She may do best in a home without small dogs. Ask to meet Piper today!!

Story
CENSUS DEADLINE 5PM 12/10/24Name: SandyAnimal ID: A820935Age: 3 years Weight: 57 lbs. About: Sandy is an energetic, happy young dog who is looking for his forever home. He spent close to a year in a foster home before returning to the shelter and we learned the following:- He lived with another dog and did great - He was housebroken - He is an active, playful pup who will benefit from training and structure - He is well- behaved when left home alone, snoozing the day away- He is smart, alert, and curious - He is sweet and loves to be with his people- He loves toys- He loves to runSandy will thrive in an active household with owners who can provide him with plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. He`s a smart and eager-to-please dog who will benefit from training and positive reinforcement. Here’s what one volunteer at the shelter said:“I have a thing for brown dogs and Sandy fits the bill. He is the whole package in my eyes. We walk in the desert together, with no pulling or jumpiness. I find him to be such a nice walker. He turns to me now and then looking for a treat, but I tell him to keep walking and he continues on. I haven`t seen any reactivity or mouthiness from him any time I have had him out. He`s actually one of the most enjoyable walks of my night. I find Sandy to be an awesome companion and thoroughly enjoy any time I can spend with him.”While Sandy can be good with other dogs his size and larger, he has a high prey drive and should not be in a home with cats or small animals. He`s also prone to destructive behavior when bored or stressed, so crate training and plenty of enrichment are essential. Due to an old fracture from when he first came to the shelter, Sandy will need joint supplements to keep him comfortable for life. Sandy is a wonderful dog who deserves a loving and patient family. Please ask about how you can help Sandy! Available for foster care or adoption through PACC.Adoption Process:Interested parties:• Must visit PACC before the 5:00 PM December 10, 2024, deadline to meet with an adoption or foster counselor who will go over notes and then introduce you to ensure that it’s a good fit.

Story
The Life of Riley was an American radio comedy series in the 1940s that was adapted into a movie and two different TV shows. If there were to be a movie or TV show about the life of our Riley, she hopes that it would center around her days in a loving home rather than the shelter. That’s where you come in! Riley spent five months in a great foster home- here’s what we learned:- Riley did great with young kids! She loved them, loved to play with them, and knew not to jump on them (though she would sometimes knock the baby over with her wiggly boxer rear end).- She is energetic and thrives with regular exercise.- She is housebroken and crate trained - She is cuddly and friendly - She’ll thrive in an active home where she gets lots of attention and loveRiley also did great on a field trip away from the shelter and was described as loving, gentle and playful:“Riley is the greatest! She was so excited about everything and great on leash. She completely ignored all other dogs. She loved treats, cheese and pup cups. She loved riding in the car and wanted to climb in the front seat and the very back. She loves snuggles and pets. She seemed social and wanted to say `hi` to people we saw.”Riley shares her kennel with another PACC pup and has been playful and social when meeting other dogs in playgroup. Ask to meet Riley today!
