No means no. Unfortunately it also was the reason Zuma was surrendered. She scratched the male dog in the house after he tried to mount her. Zuma told us boys drool and toys rule. This girl might be a senior in years but she has puppy playful energy. Give her a toy bin and she is satisfied for the day. Zuma deserves a second shot in a safe home where she doesn’t have to fend off unwanted boys. Chicago Animal Care and Control is located at 2741 S. Western Ave., Chicago, IL, and is open from 12pm to 7pm daily. Walk-in visitors are welcome and helped on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are planning to adopt the day you visit, please plan to arrive before 5:30pm. Visitors arriving after 5:30pm will still be able to view animals in Pavilions A-B-C until 7pm. All dogs will be spayed/neutered and vaccinated before adoption. All household members should be present to meet dogs (especially those under 18 and any decision-makers). We recommend and can arrange dog-to-dog meet and greets for your current dog(s) to meet a potential dog sibling at the shelter. You will need to show proof of up-to-date rabies vaccination for your dog(s). Slow, cautious, and appropriate introductions are recommended after you allow time for decompression for the shelter dog. Azula is a super smart and super sweet Dobbie girl. She’s been well take ln care of and loved and has a great personality. She’s has her defensive animal instincts to ward off strangers but quickly warms up to them if introduced. She knows plenty of commands and loves tug of war. I’m relocating internationally and can’t keep her and want to find her a good home hopefully with a yard and maybe other dogs. I wish I had the opportunity to give her more yard play and doggie dates. I’m rehoming her with plenty of her items and some extra money for her new owner to get her started. I have all her paper work, she’s spayed, and up to date on shots. She has some light thinning on her coat near her hind legs. It’s been ruled out as anything hormonal or medical. The vet believes it to be dilution from her mother being fawn and that being a genetic trait sometimes. I want a really good home for my baby.
