After arriving at the City of Friendswood Animal Control severely underweight and in need of special care, she spent a week recovering and gaining strength. Thanks to the shelter staff, who adored her gentle nature, Dream has already gained 10 lbs and is on her way to full health. Concerned for possible VWD and needing both spay and heartworm treatment, rescue was requested. Dream's blood testing did not reveal a danger, though she was dehydrated and in-heat requiring additional care during her surgeries.

Chandler loves, LOVES chasing balls and chewing ropes. He is very vocal, whining and barking when he wants attention or needs to go outside/wants to go run the yard. He was kenneled at the shelter for months before coming to rescue, so he is reluctant to crate at his foster home for long periods of time but is sleeping overnight in a crate for practice. He is an anxious chewer and blanket sucker when inside/crated. He prefers to sleep on a dog bed, couch or the floor. Chandler is being trained with boundaries (baby gates) and does not push open doors or push past people. He knows sit and is easy to walk on a leash. He barks at people and things at a distance but does not show aggression. He is tall and at 2 years old, will not get any taller - which is fine since he is above the breed standard of a Doberman and fitting in the category of a Warlock or King size bred Doberman. He is continuing to gain weight/muscle and last weighed 78 lbs. He could be a 95 lb-110 lb dog. >> He will need a family accepting of his initial anxiety - he barks at new things and people (which is unnerving since he's huge) but will give kisses by the 2nd date or meeting, give 48 hours in a new home before he understands. He is working on house training and socializing. He functions with a puppy brain but is very trainable and eager to please. He will jump on people, he will pull at objects in someone's hand. Chandler Goose will require breed experience to adjust to a new home successfully. !!! He has been slowly introduced to other dogs and thriving in group play. He does well with other big dogs males and females; he wants to play and smell, following the lead of other dogs. He would like dog friends and a yard to play. Due to his size and limited social skills, He should not be exercised at a dog park. He was poorly socialized and was not used to strangers and never had dog friends. He was significantly underweight at 54 lbs and barked at strangers. The shelter staff knew the best way to find the 'right' family for their 'Silly Goose' would be through Rescue. Chandler Goose weighed in at 70 lbs during his rescue intake and was still noticeably underweight with poor muscle tone.

Gypsy Dawn is looking forward to her next chapter; She is a strong and healthy 3 year old Doberman who seeks companionship among humans and is attending play groups to help her warm up to doing big dog things. Gypsy is agreeable and submissive, avoiding conflict but will growl to ask for space with other big dogs. She is fostered with two young hyper dogs (Poodle) and learning how to play after living with only chihuahuas. Gypsy also is fostered with several cats. She does not jump on people or bark, housetrained, crate trained and loves car rides. She spends time sunbathing by the pool and being with the adults of the house. Teens and young energy intimidate her, she will hide from the teenagers in her foster home - she is an old soul, previously owned by an elderly man. Favorite Toy: NylaBone Wishbone Favorite Snack: Chewy Meatballs Favorite Color: Royal Purple She weighs in at 75 lbs and appears to be a purebred Doberman (black with rust markings) with a docked tail and naturally floppy ears. Dewormed, Vaccinated, Spayed, Microchipped and on prevention after heartworm treatment. She is healthy and ready for adoption.
