Story
Hello, I'm Karma Girl. I'm a Doberman Husky mix, and I've been told I'm quite intelligent. I'm house-trained, which I think is a big plus. I'm also sweet and gentle, and I've got loyalty in spades. I can be a little shy at first, but give me a chance to warm up and I promise you'll see my loving nature. I'm smart, too. I learn quickly and I'm eager to please. I'd love to find a family who can appreciate my gentle spirit and my loyalty. I may be a little shy, but I promise, I'm worth the wait. Adopt me and let's create beautiful memories together.

Story
Froggy is a fun loving goofy boy, looking for a rescue partner to take him in and help him find his forever family! Froggy appears to be a doberman mix who was found as a stray and described by his finder as friendly. Since getting into the shelter Froggy has slowly adjusted to shelter life and more easily taken to new people, stealing the hearts of his volunteer friends! See more about Froggy's history below: Video: Kisses from Froggy: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/fuugOv4IEAY?feature=share Froggy loves squeaky toys: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Ti0_BlZcy1Y?feature=share Froggy plays fetch: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/rdGvRiHgQvY?feature=share Froggy on the A frame: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Ix40uUDKDq4?feature=share Froggy knows sit: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/twCVjsM94tU?feature=share Behavior: Per Volunteer 10/1/24: Super fun and playful boy! I see why he's called froggy- he's a jumpy boy and very high energy. He was right at the front of the kennel when I approached and was very excited for leashing but allowed me to loop him easily. He did jump towards a woman who was walking by, but she was yelling at the top of her lungs so I didn't blame him. He pulls on leash but with a harness would be no issue and he's easy to direct. He loves toys!! He chased anything I threw and he loves romping around. He's very jumpy- jumped up at me for treats, but then showed me his new sit and took the treats very gently. Gave me a ton of kisses and took pets all over- he was all up in my face very affectionate boy. No issues going back inside and he walked by a few other dogs and people nicely. Per Staff 9/27/24: After cleared medically, can be made Rescue Only due to being VIP breed. Behavior evaluation is in, he can go to rescue behaviorally. Per Staff 9/27/24: BEHAVIOR EVALUATION: KNOWN HISTORY: Stray - came in with the dog Freckle KENNEL PRESENTATION: Froggy was laying near the door of his kennel when I approached. He looked up with wide, scared eyes when he saw me, and did not come to the door. I crouched down and offered some high value wet food through the door and he took them gently. When I stood up and reached in with the leash he stood up with neutral eyes. He did a bit of leash dodging, so I lassoed him ears to snout. Once secured he came right out. LEASH SKILLS: Pulls minimally HANDLING: When we got to the room Froggy sat right away and looked to me for more food. I gave him some food and he took it gently, but did not show knowledge of other tricks. He allowed some all over pets and leaned against my legs with a wagging tail. He warmed up quickly with food and was loose and wiggly with me from the start. He allowed all handling, but was a little sensitive about the top of his head and ears, and his paws. He would shake his head and cower away whenever I touched the top of his head, and he would pull his paws back quickly when I handled them. He never escalated, just showed me that he was uncomfortable. Froggy began to pass a foreign object, so I called some staff in for back up. He was able to pass the object without issue, and once he had finished going potty, greeted the other staff member in the room with neutral eyes and body, and a wagging tail. He would flinch a bit if they reached over him, but he never escalated. He also frustration barked when I wouldn't let him near one of the staff members (they were busy with something), but never escalated. He got silyl and playful when they left, and bounced around play bowing and being silly. He didn't take possession of any toys but mouthed at them and chased them. Overall, Froggy needs a slower approach with a little food, but once he gets some treats he'll be your new friend. PLAY Took a while but got silly and play bowed and ran around with me. Never jumped or mouthed. TOYS: Liked squeaky toys and would chase and mouth them, but never took possession of one. COLOR LEVEL & ANY RECOMMENDATIONS: Blue - due to behavior during initial intake Per Staff 9/26/24: Froggy allowed me to scan him for a microchip (negative) but when I was trying to take his picture he growled at me, he also growled at LS Mike, put on evaluate Medical: 10/01/2024: possible skin infection ObjectiveBehavior: BAR, tolerated gentle handling and restraint for exam Eyes: clear corneas, no ocular discharge Ears: clean external canals, no erythema or discharge Nose: clean, dry nose without discharge or stertor Oropharynx: clean dentition, no gingivitis or tartar Cardiac: normal heart rate and rhythm, no murmur Respiratory: normal respiratory rate and effort, clear lung sounds Abdomen: soft, nonpainful abdomen Urogenital: intact male, two soft symmetrical scrotal testes Musculoskeletal: ambulatory x4 with no apparent lameness, well muscled Integument: hypotrichosis and scaling along the dorsum especially caudally along the tail base; no focal pyoderma or ulceration Assessment- Suspect flea allergy dermatitis, mild but regionally extensive with associated hair loss and scaling Plan- Douxo mousse topical once daily for 10 days - Otherwise cleared for all pathways, neuter ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia. Story
Phoenix! This lovely, squishy medium sized (maybe 55 lbs) girl is around 2-3 years old. She was originally adopted from us as a puppy but returned for not getting along with the other pets in the home. Phoenix should be an only pet in her new home, but is a lovely girl willing to give you all her love. She would benefit from a diet and losing a little weight. She is a great girl who is fully housebroken (but may have a few small accidents as she gets acclimated) and crate trained. She would be fine with older, school aged children.
