Story
Whiskey is a show stopper. With an athletic grace, and unique chestnut-colored features, it’s hard to not do a double take when you see her! At roughly 3.5 years old, Whiskey is the definition of an adventure buddy. She loves getting out for walks, exploring, and staying active, but she’s also content lounging around on the couch with a toy. She will climb a fence if left to her own devices, so she’s looking for a home where her energy is channeled into fun outings with her people.Whiskey’s relationship with other animals can be complicated. She would ultimately do well as the only dog in the home, but if the right home comes around, we would consider a meet and greet with another dog. Whiskey’s History:- 7/23: Arrived as a stray and reclaimed- 3/18/24: Turned loose in a parking lot- 4/18/24: Adopted- 8/1/25: Returned due to fence-jumping and stirring up mischief with the other dog at home- 11/21/25: Began trial adoption- 1/6/26: Returned due to not getting along with the other dog in the home Whiskey has actually developed her own cult following and we have volunteers and visitors come in just to spend time with her! She’s a very sweet dog and we just want her to find her happy ending.

Story
HIHELLOHIGUESSWHATITSME 🙃☕☕☕☕ I’m Lucy Goosey and I have had EXACTLY FOUR ESPRESSO SHOTS and WOW I CAN SEE SOUND. Okay. Focus. Deep breaths. Just kidding I don’t do deep breaths. I came in as a stray on 2/18/26 which is WILD because clearly I belong somewhere with a backyard the size of a small continent. They think I’m about 3 years old but spiritually I am a caffeinated Olympic athlete with zoomies scheduled every 12 minutes. Let’s discuss my talents: 🏃‍♀️ Running. 🏃‍♀️ Running faster. 🏃‍♀️ Running because I thought about running. I could absolutely win “Most Energetic Dog Ever in the History of Energy.” I would like room to run, stretch my legs, perform interpretive dance, and possibly invent a new sport called Competitive Lap Jumping. Speaking of laps — WHAT IS PERSONAL SPACE? I’ve never heard of her. If you sit down, congratulations, you are now a Lucy Chair™. I will be in your lap. On your shoulder. Possibly gently standing on your soul with love. I have never met a stranger. If you exist? We’re best friends. If you breathe? I love you. If you blink? I missed you. I do know how to sit. I promise. I REALLY DO. But sometimes my brain goes, “SIT!” and my body goes, “PARTY!” and then we are both just very excited about everything. With practice (and maybe treat-based negotiations), I can absolutely demonstrate my academic achievements. TREATS. I love them. All of them. Crunchy? Yes. Soft? Yes. Suspiciously shaped? YES. I am not picky. If it’s edible, I support it. I am a very happy girl. Like… aggressively happy. If happiness had a mascot, it would be me sprinting in a circle. If you are prepared for: ✔️ Unlimited enthusiasm ✔️ Lap invasions ✔️ Olympic-level zoomies ✔️ A best friend who thinks you are the greatest invention since squirrels Then please apply immediately at the illustrious Richland County Dog Shelter in Mansfield. 📞 419-774-5892 📧 dogs@richlandcountyoh.gov It is an application process, which is good, because I have VERY HIGH ENERGY and you should be prepared. HURRY. I HAVE SO MUCH LOVE AND IT IS BOUNCING. OKAY BYE GOTTA RUN AGAIN 🐾💨
