You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Clear the runway and enter Maisey! Maisey is an almost 2 year old tall girl with legs for days! She was surrendered to the rescue after she swallowed a sock, which caused an obstruction that required expensive surgery to save her life. A real trooper during her recovery, she maintained her sweet disposition despite how awful she felt. Maisey is now cleared from her post-surgery restrictions and her beautiful personality is starting to emerge. We are working on getting this skinny girl back to a healthy weight. Do you thrive on helping a dog become a well-behaved and balanced canine citizen? If so, Maisey is your girl! She is completely housebroken, crates well and knows how to sit. She does like to mouth a bit and talk back when you tell her No! She does like to counter surf, so she will need guidance to deter these behaviors. She still goes crazy when she sees a sock, not realizing that ingesting one almost cost her life. She is a great inspiration to keep a clutter-free house. Maisey will do fine with all adults. Older kids that don't scatter toys and clothes around the house will be the bests fit for her. Maisey walks well on a leash, only occasionally pulling when she finds a good scent. She also literally stares and then jumps in jubilation when she sees a squirrel, and will either play bow or lay down and then pull to try to get to it. She likes to take breaks and roll in the grass, but then is quickly ready to continue on her walk. She does bark when she sees people or animals near her home, but quiets down quickly when told. She appears to like all humans of all ages, however she does bark or may jump away a few times upon her initial meeting until she feels safe. Maisey loves the senior Min Pin at her foster home, and desperately tries to engage in play with him. However, due to his health conditions, he isn't able to play. She isn't sure of her other canine foster sibling. A slow introduction to any dog will be best. She also has shown that she prefers to eat separate from the resident dogs. Outside in the yard, Maisey is very vocal she sees feral cats nearby. She has not been cat tested, but we think she might be entirely too interested in cats to live inside with one. Maisey either cuddles with her human or sleeps on a dog bed at night. In efforts to prevent her from ingesting anything harmful, she does not have anything in her crate when her human has to leave the house, and she does just fine. Maisey likes to grab a leash and run with it, and tries to initiate a game of keep away. She does try to "welcome" people by nudging open the gate lock with her nose. To make sure she has a safe, secure area to play outside, she will need a properly secured, physical fence in place. Car rides are fun for Maisey, and she is a very well behaved passenger. Maisey is a beautiful, sweet girl who appears to have an eagerness to please. She has a good balance of being playful and having fun while still being able to relax in the evening and sleep through the night. She'll do well with an experienced Doberman owner to give her the consistency and guidance she needs to live her best life. Maisey is is ready to find her forever family. Is it yours?
