Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.came in with daughter Jody Zoey's owners weren't home much, so they kept her in the back yard with a big, heavy chain.  Doberman Underground was alerted to the situation by a good samaritan, and we found  Zoey with her one year old mixed breed daughter who was cowering in a corner.  Both dogs were unchained and saved by our rescue.  Not surprisingly, they both tested positive for Lyme disease, but have been treated for that. Zoey is 5 years old with the energy of a youngster.  She has a beautiful soft coat and walks with a bounce in her step.  She loves to run and patrol the yard.  She has no recall and runs very fast, so she must have a home with a physical fence around the yard.  This girl has a very happy, loving attitude and really wants to please her people.  She has proven to be a very quick learner.  In her foster home, she is working on house manners and walking on leash.  Zoey responds well to gentle correction and will do extremely well with training.  She will make a great jogging or hiking partner. Agility would be a good option for her as well. Zoey has done well with dogs of all sizes but has not been cat tested.  She'll need a canine companion that will enjoy her playful romps.  She doesn't show a lot of interest in small dogs, but she's very energetic and can run them over without even realizing it.  She is good with kids, but might be too much for very small children given her high energy. Zoey is ready to choose her forever family.  Is it yours? Apply now at www.DUDobes.org Doberman Underground adopts to Ohio and some close in parts of bordering states.  Visit our website for a complete list of states and counties that we cover. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *  Sponsor Me by purchasing: Toys / Treats $10.00 USDLeash & Collar $15.00 USDMonth of Food $35.00 USDMonthly Heartworm/Flea/Tick $40.00 USDTransportation Costs $60.00 USDVaccinations $100.00 USDSpay / Neuter $150.00 USDThyroid Panel $150.00 USDIncoming vetting $300.00 USDHeartworm Treatment $1,500.00 USD  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 26, 2023, 7:56 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Dora was found exploring the world.  When she got to the shelter, she was tired, thin and scared.  This 3 year old girl is happy that her time on the run has come to an end! Dora has settled in nicely at her foster home.  She can be shy with men at first, but she warms up quickly and is loving all the attention from her humans.  She really enjoys people and wants to be the best girl.  She transitions well from outside activity to curling up on the couch.  Dora does jump up when she gets excited, so small children wouldn't be a good fit.   She plays well with dogs of all sizes, but large males intimidate her.   Large, submissive females are best or smaller dogs of any gender.  She has not been cat tested.   Dora is energetic and playful .  She loves going on car rides and experiencing life with her people!   Dora needs a family that can give her the exercise and play time that every young Doberman needs.  She's very agile and loves to play with balls and chew toys.  She's doing well with training and knows basic commands like sit, down, stay and wait and is currently working on leave it.    Agility may be a great option for her.  She's a very smart dog that will do well with consistency and training.  She's learning house manners but does like to re-decorate items, which is great motivation for her new family to be clutter free!  Her foster mom says that everyone who meets her falls in love with her!  She does like to chase after birds, but is respectful of barriers.  She needs a yard with a physical or invisible fence to keep her safe.   Dora is looking for an adopter with prior Doberman ownership experience to be her forever family.  Is it yours? Apply now at www.DUDobes.org Doberman Underground adopts to Ohio and some close in parts of bordering states. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Clear the runway and enter Maisey!  Maisey is an almost 2 year old tall girl with legs for days!  She was surrendered to the rescue after she swallowed a sock, which caused an obstruction that required expensive surgery to save her life.  A real trooper during her recovery, she maintained her sweet disposition despite how awful she felt.  Maisey is now cleared from her post-surgery restrictions and her beautiful personality is starting to emerge.  We are working on getting this skinny girl back to a healthy weight.   Do you thrive on helping a dog become a well-behaved and balanced canine citizen?  If so, Maisey is your girl! She is completely housebroken, crates well and knows how to sit. She does like to mouth a bit and talk back when you tell her No!  She does like to counter surf, so she will need guidance to deter these behaviors.  She still goes crazy when she sees a sock, not realizing that ingesting one almost cost her life. She is a great inspiration to keep a clutter-free house. Maisey will do fine with all adults. Older kids that don't scatter toys and clothes around the house will be the bests fit for her.    Maisey walks well on a leash, only occasionally pulling when she finds a good scent. She also literally stares and then jumps in jubilation when she sees a squirrel, and will either play bow or lay down and then pull to try to get to it.   She likes to take breaks and roll in the grass, but then is quickly ready to continue on her walk. She does bark when she sees people or animals near her home, but quiets down quickly when told.  She appears to like all humans of all ages, however she does bark or may jump away a few times upon her initial meeting until she feels safe.  Maisey loves the senior Min Pin at her foster home, and desperately tries to engage in play with him.  However, due to his health conditions, he isn't able to play.  She isn't sure of her other canine foster sibling. A slow introduction to any dog will be best. She also has shown that she prefers to eat separate from the resident dogs.  Outside in the yard, Maisey is very vocal she sees feral cats nearby.  She has not been cat tested, but we think she might be entirely too interested in cats to live inside with one.  Maisey either cuddles with her human or sleeps on a dog bed at night. In efforts to prevent her from ingesting anything harmful, she does not have anything in her crate when her human has to leave the house, and she does just fine.  Maisey likes to grab a leash and run with it, and tries to initiate a game of keep away.  She does try to "welcome" people by nudging open the gate lock with her nose.  To make sure she has a safe, secure area to play outside, she will need a properly secured, physical fence in place. Car rides are fun for Maisey, and she is a very well behaved passenger.  Maisey is a beautiful, sweet girl who appears to have an eagerness to please. She has a good balance of being playful and having fun while still being able to relax in the evening and sleep through the night.  She'll do well with an experienced Doberman owner to give her the consistency and guidance she needs to live her best life. Maisey is is ready to find her forever family.  Is it yours? Apply now at www.DUDobes.org Doberman Underground adopts to Ohio and some close in parts of bordering states.
