Story
Please contact Tonya Griffith (TMSGriffith@aol.com) for more information about this pet.Posted 6/29/18, and pictures updated 5/10/20 - Callan was surrendered on 4/11/18. An older woman contacted the Smith County, TX Shelter about her young dog. The officer who talked to her, called me to see if I could help, since the shelter cannot take owner surrenders. I had recently had some adoptions, so I told him that he caught me at a good time. He brought the young dog to me later that day, and I didn't get the dog's name from the home, so I named him Callan. I took Callan to the Gresham Veterinary Hospital on 4/13/18 to get vaccinated, he was listed as a Doberman mix, 1.5 years old, weighed 44.6 pounds, and was neutered by Dehart Veterinary Services on 4/14/18.  As of 5/10/20, he weighs 54 pounds. Callan is good with adults and children, loves to play with the other dogs, has a high pitch bark at times when he sees things like squirrels in the trees, is good on a leash, and crate trained.  He loves to be pet, and will put his head on my lap to get pet.  He requires a fenced yard, and is not an apartment dog.  He didn't like to be crated at night, but got better.  I eventually stopped putting him in a crate at night, since he does well outside at night. Callan's adoption fee is $85. Anyone interested in adopting him, please e-mail me at TMSGriffith@aol.com. April 24, 2024, 12:21 am

Story
LOCATION: Atlanta, GeorgiaDOB: 01/19/2022Jackpot is a fun-loving girl and a sweetheart through and through. She adores human affection and is quick to show her appreciation, nudging your hand for more pets whenever you stop. Her favorite pastime might just be lounging on the couch with her people. She's a model housemate most of the time, being both housebroken and non-destructive when left alone indoors. However, don't let her relaxed demeanor fool you—she is bursting with energy and would make an excellent companion for an active individual or family. With her high energy, she might make a great running partner, eager to hit the trails and explore new paths alongside her favorite human. While she may need some work on her leash manners, her enthusiasm and willingness to learn make her a great candidate for training. She can be initially wary around new dogs, but she warms up after SLOW, proper introductions. Jackpot does have some quirks to be mindful of, including resource guarding around food and a high prey drive for squirrels. She has been a tad destructive in her attempts to get to other dogs, squirrels, etc that are outside – but not destructive just to be destructive. As such, she may not be the best fit for households with cats or other small animals. Additionally, her impressive jumping abilities mean she'll need a secure, tall fence to keep her safe and contained. But when it comes to people, Jackpot is an absolute delight. From kids to men to teens, she's shown nothing but love and affection for everyone she meets. While she may not be overly interested in toys or balls, she does enjoy a good bully stick to chew on. She really is a true gem just waiting to find her final loving destination. With her winning personality, unwavering loyalty, and sheer exuberance, she’s sure to bring smiles and delight to her forever family.======================== To apply to adopt me, please fill out the application form! https://form.jotform.com/51994996709176 .For more information, please email us at rescueme@srgdrr.org. Story
My name is Putz. I am a 2-3 year old male Doberman. I am terrified of new things, so I need a family that understands that and can be patient with me while I get used to you, but once I open up to you I love to smile when I see you and get belly rubs. I have tried going on walks a couple times but I’m not so sure about that. If you give me a chance I will be the most loyal bestest friend you will ever have. The lady looking after me thinks I was very neglected and possibly abused with the way I act so I need someone that can be gentle with me.
