Meet Max! He is a 1 yr old neutered male German Pinscher/Doberman Pinscher that weighs 66lbs. He came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 10/14 as an owner surrender. Reason given was he had too many animals, and Max was a big pup. He has been very well cared for, clean soft fur, and may be housetrained. He is an extremely handsome boy, and always has a smile on his face. Despite being left at the shelter, he has an upbeat, happy go lucky personality. And such a silly playful side too. He found a stuffed toy and he threw it up in the air and bounced around the shelter yard. He walks well on a leash and takes treats gently. On occasion he does get excited and will try to jump, yet he can be quickly redirected with the sit command. Very smart pup! He hopes he can find a loving family with a secured yard, take him for walks and enrichment, shower him with plenty of stuffed toys and be close and cuddly with his human companions inside on his own dog bed. Tho he had no reaction to other dogs barking at him, we do ask if there is another dog in the home please ask the shelter for a dog test. Come meet this wonderful boy!!

Rocky was found starving at a construction site with his sister, who has since been adopted. Now safe and thriving in his foster home, he’s learning how wonderful life can be when you’re loved and cared for. Rocky is a happy, well-behaved, and social puppy who loves to play in water, tug-of-war with ropes, and a good game of keep-away with his foster friends. He gets along great with other dogs and loves being part of the fun! He’s working hard on potty training, sleeps well through the night, and is very eager to please. You can tell Rocky knows he was saved — he’s grateful, affectionate, and full of love to give. His gentle nature and playful spirit make him a perfect fit for families, active adopters, or anyone looking for a loyal adventure buddy. I got Ecko from my neighbor whose dog had a litter of 12. She is energetic, loves hugs and attention. In a house with more than one dog she is the attention hog😁. Never been aggressive. Barks if anyone is near or around the house. Loves treats after she goes outside. Shes a little skittish when shes away from home on a walk when other dogs bark. Very loving. And she body leans when shes next to you. She loves kids and people when introduced properly. Can get along well with other pets once introduced properly ( have her on a leash). She can be very clingy, she doesnt like small children to bother her when shes in her kennel taking a nap, she considers it her quiet time. Shes a good girl who thrives with love and exercise.
