Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. LADY was saved from a kill shelter in Georgia and arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on 5 April 2024.  LADY is spayed, core vaccines, monthly preventatives and is microchipped with 24PetWatch. She has an estimated date of birth of 1 February 2024 and in April 2024 weighed of 8 pounds. We have no way of knowing the breed, it is up to individuals to look at the pictures and videos to make up their own mind. This sweet girl is still a baby and so we are looking for families who understand how much work puppies are, who are able to ensure he gets all the socialization she needs, the training, routine and structure to give her the right start to his wonderful life ahead of her. LADY is such a confident pup who will jump on my leg whilst walking by her, grab my shoe, and then settle down and join her puppy friends in a mandatory puppy pile nap. She is affectionate and loving, but does play rough. We take a lot of pictures and videos and don't always have the time to post them on the dogs individual webpage and adoption site, so we ask that you go to the rescue    YouTube channel    and    photo albums on our Facebook page    to see a LOT of pictures and videos. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. Lady is located at the rescue in Sebec Maine and is available for a  reduced adoption  fee of $550. Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application. https://giveadogahome-rescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=5838 HOUSE TRAINED - All of our dogs are located in the kennel building so we are not able to say if a dog is house-trained, however, they do have access and use the dog door to access their run, play area 24/7. FOOD - We feed a variety of high quality brands and flavors including, chicken, turkey, beef, lamb and fish generally alternated daily. CATS - We do not have cats in the kennels and are not able to say how our dogs are with cats. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. MYRTLE was saved from being shot on the streets of Oman by an amazing organization Muscat Dog Adoption. She along with her 7 friends were flown into JFK where they were cleared the CDC and then picked up and transported back to Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on 5 April 2024 Myrtle is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives, heartworm and tick disease tested negative and is microchipped. She has an estimated date of birth of 2 July 2022 and at the time of transport weighed around 30 pounds. Mixed breed dogs in Oman are referred to as Omani Wadi Dogs, with most of them being Saluki mixes. Myrtle is a sweet, gentle, affectionate girl who weighs just 30 pounds but do not let her slight frame fool you. When she is familiar in her surroundings, she is confident and loves to keep her fellow Omani kennel mates in check. She is very loving and takes treats very gently after she has checked it out for 10 minutes to be sure you are not trying to poison her lol. She is good with other dogs, but can be choosy who she wants to share with, not in an aggressive way at all but she knows who she wants to be friends. She is smart, loving affectionate and will need an active life and a family that understands the need of the sighthound and be able to provide the lifestyle that she needs and deserves. We take a lot of pictures and videos and don't always have the time to post them on the dogs individual webpage and adoption site, so we ask that you go to the rescue    YouTube channel    and    photo albums on our Facebook page   to see a LOT of pictures and videos. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. ALMA-Boy was saved from being shot on the streets of Oman by an amazing organization Muscat Dog Adoption. He along with his7 friends were flown into JFK where they were cleared the CDC and then picked up and transported back to Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on 5 April 2024 Alma-Boy is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives, heartworm and tick disease tested negative and is microchipped. He has an estimated date of birth of 21 November 2022 and at the time of transport weighed around 35 pounds. Mixed breed dogs in Oman are referred to as Omani Wadi Dogs, with most of them being Saluki mixes. Alma is such a gentle and sweet boy, he is a little wary at first, but having been through all he has leaving his rescue in Oman and traveling to the US is a huge change. After just a few days, he has settled in great, he gets excited when I go over to the kennels, will now take treats, very gently, shares a kennel with two other dogs and does great. One of his kennel mates, CHIP a young cattle dog is really helping to bring him out of his shell, teaching him to play and having him curious in the toys and chews. He sleeps snuggled up with, I feel he gets a lot of comfort with Chips typical cattle dog confidence. ALMA is thin, although being the kind of breed, a sighthound mix, he will not need to gain much more weight, but a few extra pounds would have him at a healthy weight.
ZAANA was saved from being shot on the streets of Oman by an amazing organization Muscat Dog Adoption. She along with her 7 friends were flown into JFK where they were cleared the CDC and then picked up and transported back to Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on 5 April 2024 ZAANA is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives, heartworm and tick disease tested negative and is microchipped. She has an estimated date of birth of 18 November 2021 and at the time of transport weighed around 30 pounds. The group believe that Zaana could be a Japanese Spitz mix, but we have no way of knowing for sure. ZAANA is the girl for you if you are looking for a gentle, sweet, super affectionate girl. She has settled in well after her long, scary trip from Oman and enjoys when I am in the kennels giving her lots of love and fuss. She will put her paw on my arm or shoulder so that I can scratch the spots she likes and I think it is also her way of wanting to connect. She is a beautiful girl who does have a medium length coat, so grooming is a consideration to be taken into account as if coats are not brushed, they can matt very easily which is not healthy and painful for the dogs. She is an active girl and will need a family that will take her on lots of adventures and give her the lifestyle that she needs and deserves to thrive. ZAANA can be dog selective and so she would be best in a home with no other dogs, so as to not cause any un-needed stress or concerns. Then over time she can get to meet other dogs and see who she likes to have as her friends so she can play and chase and have some doggy-fun. We take a lot of pictures and videos and don't always have the time to post them on the dogs individual webpage and adoption site, so we ask that you go to the rescue   YouTube channel    and    photo albums on our Facebook page   to see a LOT of pictures and videos.
