Meet Cassandra (Cass). She is a brave explorer and protector of her sisters. She loves walks and sniffing and seeing everything she can and she does her happy orange out in the great outdoors. She hunts like a daschund and would always protect you from lizards and small creatures. Cass has some fear of strangers and puts up a protective front, but for those who have the patience to earn her trust she is a loyal friend. Cass needs a home with experience with dogs who take longer to warm up. She needs and is looking for someone with the kindness and willingness to help this girl move from shelter to life to what it means to have the love of a family. Could that person be you? Polly has gone from skittish to playful and continues to feel more confident every day. She loves to explore and always does it with an excited skip to her step. Chasing lizards is also a great pastime. Walks are very enjoyable as she is very easy and ready to walk with people. She is learning she likes pets behind her ear and on her belly. Polly has a lot of love to give to someone willing to have patience and give her the chance to give it. She is a pretty, intelligent, and sweet dog. Story

Salvador is one of the countless doggies that was found roaming the island of Puerto Rico. This boy got into something and contracted botulism. When found he was completely paralyzed and near death. Luckily we got him the care he needed and he fully recovered. During recovery Salvador contracted distemper. Talk about a 1, 2 punch. Again, he fought off the disease and recovered. Despite such a horrific beginning in our care Sal has flourished and is ready to join a forever home where he can be the pampered boy he deserves. Sal is 5 years old and weighs 36 lbs. He is healthy and a very happy boy. He loves playing with other dogs and will flourish in a home with or without older kids. Sal is neutered, microchipped, up to date on all vaccines and on heartworm and flea and tick preventatives. Once adopted, we will fly him to Newark, NJ and his adopter will meet him there to pick up and take him home that day. PLEASE NOTE: You will be picking up in NEWARK, NJ.
