Story
Meatball is a super neat dude! he is an 11 month old male Dogo Argentino. Meatball has a very genuine temperment, he is a major lover. Not only that, he can add an 8 week board to his resume. He is crate trained, house trained and has advanced training under his belt. He is neutered and up to date on his shots. he would do best in a house that is more active or has a fenced backyard , because he is a young dog and the dogo breed is an active one. We do not adopt these breeds to homes with dogs of the same sex and we feel that Meatball would be his happiest self in a home with a larger female dog or by himself. He is great with kids and adults alike! all applicants must apply using our adoption application found on our website at www.westcoastcanecorsorescue.org

Update from a temporary foster:  I brought Finch home for a week & took him back to OTC today. He rides perfectly in the car, lays down & relaxes. He’s a very friendly, happy dog. He has great recall in the fenced in yard. He is young & active, but once given time to run around he mellows out well with a fluffy bed & peanutbutter kong ball. He likes to play with balls that bounce around and is very treat motivated. He sits quickly on command for a treat. He wasn’t overly interested in my goats, but did want to chase chicken (he could probably be worked with to be around chickens supervised) He’d rather continue on his walk than deal with my cat hissing at him. He does pull a little on the leash and when excited bites at some. He listens to correction very well, so be probably gets away with it because it’s cute. Overall he’s a very fun/ good dog.         **Ready to Make Finch a Part of Your Family? ** If you're ready for a lifetime of love, laughter, and adventures, contact Wags and Whiskers at 530-895-8888 to inquire about adopting Finch. Story
Meet Lupin! Lupin, his siblings, and their mom, Bluebell, came to Wags and Whiskers after Bluebell sadly gave birth in the overcrowded, high kill shelter, that she had found herself in. Unfortunately for dogs like Bluebell and her pups, giving birth, or being a newborn puppy, in a kill shelter, means that they get front row seats on the euthanasia list; Lupin and his family were lucky enough to escape this sad fate, when the shelter reached out to Wags and Whiskers and asked for help to save these 9 lives. Wags and Whiskers members didn't hesitate and a volunteer was off to bring Bluebell and her pups to safety. Since coming to Wags, Lupin and his siblings were named after flowers, and placed in a loving foster home, where they were allowed to thrive and flourish in a warm, comfy, clean and loving home. Now, Lupin is weaned and ready to find his own family! Lupin has grown up with other dogs, kids, chickens and even lambs, giving him a great advantage in life! If you are considering adding a cute, sweet pup to your family, don't hesitate to put your application in to meet Lupin and/or his siblings, today!     Apply to adopt by clicking on the link below http://www.wagsandwhiskerspetrescue.com/adopt.html Thank you so much for looking into wags and whiskers for your next family member. All of our pets are up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm tested if over 6 months old and will be spayed or neutered before being allowed to go home.  Unfortunately, we don't always know the background of each dog. Some were dumped, abandoned in an empty house, left tied to a tree, picked up by animal control as strays, or simply unwanted by their owners. Please take into consideration that owning a pet is a 10+ year commitment and discuss with all members of your family before submitting an application to adopt.  If you have already filled out an online adoption application with our organization in the last 6 months you do not need to fill out another application. Please call or email us to schedule an appointment.  530-895-8888 If you are interested in meeting this pet please apply to adopt at http://www.wagsandwhiskerspetrescue.com/adopt.html if the pet is still available for adoption and you are approved to adopt we will contact you to set up a meet and greet appointment.    July 26, 2024, 7:46 pm
