When he first arrived, he was completely shut down — frozen in fear, unable to move, unsure how to exist in a safe place. But just like the character he was named after, he’s slowly, bravely finding his footing.We were told he is a mix of apple-headed Chihuahua and Boxer, and his beautiful red coat makes him just as striking on the outside as he is tender on the inside.Yukon doesn’t rush. He doesn’t demand. He gently reveals who he is when he feels safe. For the people he trusts, he becomes playful, silly, and surprisingly goofy. Watching him come out of his shell has been one of the quiet joys of our shelter.Yukon Cornelius needs a patient, kind-hearted home — someone who understands that healing isn’t instant and love is built slowly.
