Story
Daffi is an oversized love bug! He is a very emotional boy who is slow to adjust to changes. He and his best friend Stormy were owner surrendered. Their kind dad underwent some major medical procedures and found himself needing to relocate from a 60 acre property to an apartment with family in southern california. Needless to say he knew his babies would not do well in that environment so he and his daughter searched for a safe place for them until they can find their new forever family! That's how they came to be here 💖

Story
MAGGIE2 - SPRING ADOPTION SPECIAL - $50 Maggie is a 63.8 pound, 7 1/2 year old, spayed, female, Dogo Argentino (possibly) & Pit Bull that came to the shelter as a stray. They were able to find her owners, but they decided to surrender her because she kept escaping :( and she did not get along with their children. NO SMALL CHILDREN Her previous owners stated she is house and crate trained, and she lived with other cats. They stated Maggie does not like their 2 year old, and she would get nervous and nip if they got too close. Nobody ever got hurt, but the previous owners did nothing to keep the child away or to keep Maggie from being out in uncomfortable situations with the child. Her previous owners said Maggie lived with other dogs, but did not get along with them. Maggie was described as a social, lap loving, curious, and active girl that loves car rides, fetch, running, toys, and playing in water! Here at the shelter, Maggie is an active and happy girl that engages well with new people. Maggie is very friendly and did well during her intake, and once we were done, she was ready to go out and play! She gets excited at first, but calms quickly during play. Maggie enjoys booty scratches and petting, and she takes treats very nicely. She has not reacted negatively to any of the other dogs through the kennel. Due to her past, Maggie will need a home with no young children under the age of 13! She is microchipped and up to date on her rabies vaccine. Her adoption fee is $100. Story
Evita may only have three legs, but she doesn’t let that slow her down! This sweet and special girl is full of love and determination, and she’s ready to find her forever family. She’s a happy, playful, and cuddly pup who loves attention and thrives on human companionship. Evita is smart, friendly, and eager to please — plus she’s crate-trained and doing wonderfully with house training. While she’s still building her endurance on walks, she enjoys getting outside and is learning how to navigate the world on three legs. She’ll need a little patience and encouragement when she gets tired, but her progress and spirit will inspire you every day. She’s curious and social but can be timid around new people and pets at first, so a gentle introduction works best. Once she warms up, her affectionate nature shines through and she loves to cuddle. She’s also easily redirectable and appreciates a helping hand (especially for those hard-to-reach back-leg scratches!). Evita would do best in a loving home that can give her both play and rest, and cheer her on as she continues to grow stronger. In return, she’ll give you endless loyalty, kisses, and joy. Quick stats! --Dogs: gets along with dogs & prefers them --Cats: has not been introduced to cats --Children: gets along with children in the home --Likes: back scratches, playing with her foster siblings, and cuddles If Evita sounds like the right fit for your home, fill out an adoption application today! muttsofthemidway.org/adopt

Dog Name: Blake Age: 1 year Gender: Male Breed: Dogo Argentino Weight: 80lbs Crate trained: In progress Potty trained: In process Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: Unknown Kid friendly: Yes Vaccinated: Yes Spayed/Neutered: Yes Heartworm: Negative Microchipped: Yes Blake is equal parts sweet as he is dumb and goofy. Blake is going to be a fabulous dog but he’s going to require a dog savvy home. Dogos are amazing dogs but experienced owners are ideal due to their size, strength, and prey drive. Blake is not a fan of a crate but his foster has been working hard to figure out what works best for him. He’s a young boy so for his safety and the safety of the crap he may eat when you’re not home, he needs to be contained when he can’t be supervised. He is also quite the “marker” when he goes into a new place. It’s a pain in the ass but dies down with time. Although Blake won’t be a match for many homes, he will be a match for one of them. If you think that may be you, please fill out an app at the link below. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DHDN/Dog
