Story
MAGGIE - HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS ADOPTION SPECIAL - $100 Maggie is a 63.8 pound, 7 1/2 year old, spayed, female, Dogo Argentino (possibly) & Pit Bull that came to the shelter as a stray. They were able to find her owners, but they decided to surrender her because she kept escaping :( and she did not get along with their children. NO SMALL CHILDREN Her previous owners stated she is house and crate trained, and she lived with other cats. They stated Maggie does not like their 2 year old, and she would get nervous and nip if they got too close. Nobody ever got hurt, but the previous owners did nothing to keep the child away or to keep Maggie from being out in uncomfortable situations with the child. Her previous owners said Maggie lived with other dogs, but did not get along with them. Maggie was described as a social, lap loving, curious, and active girl that loves car rides, fetch, running, toys, and playing in water! Here at the shelter, Maggie is an active and happy girl that engages well with new people. Maggie is very friendly and did well during her intake, and once we were done, she was ready to go out and play! She gets excited at first, but calms quickly during play. Maggie enjoys booty scratches and petting, and she takes treats very nicely. She has not reacted negatively to any of the other dogs through the kennel. Due to her past, Maggie will need a home with no young children under the age of 13! She is microchipped and up to date on her rabies vaccine. Her adoption fee is $100. Story
Dennis the menace was a pretty cute kid. Therefore I am cute too! I am an adult, with puppy-like exuberance for life and food! I arrived at the rescue with my wife (Dee Dee) and our kid (Donna) after being left in our backyard when our "family" moved. Can you imagine? I gave them 3 years of devotion, and they just leave me like an old newspaper..... So, enough about my sorted past, let's look at my BRIGHT FUTURE!!! I am a handsome guy, full of love for life. I love female dogs, male dogs are more challenging because I am an alpha sort of dog, with the females I am fine- even dominant females like my Dee Dee. I am a good 60lbs, I'm such a big boy who makes for great cuddles! I am a good protector of your home and my people. I won't let those pesky neighbors over, unless you invite them ;) I have lots of fun running and playing and I would be a great outdoor adventure buddy! Let's get on the trails and go! Dennis can only be adopted in the local area. Local adoption fee is $200.

Story
Hey, There-my name is Watson but my nickname should be Mr. Playful. I LOVE everyone I meet. Person-dog-cat- whatever…I’m going to follow you around and ask for all the pets! My favorite activities include chasing a ball around the backyard and going for walks with my foster dad. I’m one of the friendliest dogs in the rescue so I always get invited to all their fun events. I’m not only a master on a leash but also do great on car rides & in my kennel. I may be playful but I know how to read a room and when to chill. We asked my foster dad for a list of things about me- he did a pretty good job! He loves to share your pillow at night (or try to take it all) He chases his tail like a tornado. Gives you little love sniffs to the face. Rolls over on top of you for belly rubs. Like to lay against your legs while napping. Peeks his head in the shower and wants to lick your wet legs. Follows you everywhere. At ALL TIMES. He gives good hugs. I can’t think of one reason that would make you not fill an application out for me unless you hate fun.

Story
Hello, I'm Millie! My foster parents call me snore queen and say that I have an incredible knack for being the best cuddler. Don't worry, that's not all I'm good at. I have been learning some training in my foster home and know sit, shake, and roll over. While I'm bragging, I would also like to mention my amazing leash skills. My foster parents also like to take me to places to maintain my socialization. I go to dog daycare a few days a week and also got to work with my foster mom. Not only has this been so much fun, but it's also made me a great car rider. If you are looking for a fun brindle girl that will keep you smiling all day long, I'm the one for you!

Story
Our delightful and adorable Ms.Mac-a-doodle-do, or simply Mac to her friends, is searching for a forever family. Sweet Mac (FKA Maple) was adopted from Pal's Place when she was just a wee lass of 10 weeks (D.O.B Jan 2021). Pal's Place rescued Mac and her six littermates from an animal control facility in Kentucky. Mac just turned 3 years old in January and weighs 35 pounds. A DNA test of a littermate revealed a breed mix of half Boxer with an assortment of terrier breeds (including Boston and Jack) comprising the other half, all combining perfectly to create the wonderful girl we today know as Mac. She has been very well-loved and cared for her entire life; however, her previous adopter suffered from health issues that unfortunately left them unable to care for Mac any longer. Lovingly and tearfully, she was surrendered back to Pal's Place for placement with another family. Mac is a small pooch with a big personality! She has inherited many traits from her Boxer ancestry and is energetic, playful, comical, and clownish. She can be a bit bashful in new environments and when meeting new people but she warms up quickly and it does not take long before her upbeat, cheerful, and slightly cheeky demeanor shines through. As serious as Mac is about having a good time and playing, she is equally serious about cuddling, snuggling, and loving her humans. A social dog, she thrives in the company of others. She loves the canine friends in her foster home and was raised with cats. Her previous adopter did note that Mac was never aggressive with the cats, she was always trying to engage them in play, much the annoyance of the senior cats in the home. Because of this, we feel she'd be best suited to a home with dog-savvy, confident cats. Mac is well-behaved in the home, crate-trained, and housebroken. Mac is prone to producing urinary crystals, a fairly common condition, especially among many terrier breeds. Her condition is easily managed with a prescription diet of urinary S/O food, which is comparable in cost to other premium dog foods. She is also spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready for a family! Mac is in a foster home on Chicago's northwest side and can be visited by appointment only after an adoption application has been completed and approved. Her adoption fee to the rescue is $375. This fee helps to cover the costs of caring for the rescued dogs of Pal's Place. Unfortunately, we cannot place holds on our dogs for any reason. Please do not submit an adoption application unless you are ready to meet and welcome a dog into your home within three days of applying. For more information or to receive an application, email palsplace1@hotmail.com or visit palsplacerescue.org. Adoption applications and correspondence from the rescue may end up in your spam or junk folder. If you are waiting for our reply, please check those folders regularly, and if it has been 48 hours without a reply, please follow up with an email to ensure your application was received. • Mac's adoption fee is $375. This fee helps to cover any necessary medical care to prepare her for adoption. Pal's Place relies solely on adoption fees and donations to care for the animals in our rescue. Your donation also helps save other dogs like Mac from euthanasia. • Please email Palsplace1@hotmail.com for an adoption application, and please put the dog's name in the subject line. Please be sure to check your spam/junk folder; sometimes, the applications end up in there! We are a volunteer-run organization and do our best to respond to all inquiries within 24-48 hours. • All of our dogs are in foster homes and can be seen BY APPOINTMENT ONLY after an approved application has been received. To receive more info, please email palsplace1@hotmail.com. Email is the preferred method of contact and is the quickest way to receive a response. Unfortunately, we cannot hold our adoptable dogs for any reason. Please do not submit an application until you are prepared to adopt.
