Meet Zara ❤️
Zara is a beautiful 5-year-old, 75-pound Dogo Argentino mix looking for a loving new home after her previous owner could no longer keep her due to housing circumstances.
Zara is a gentle, sweet girl who loves her people and has done wonderfully with children. She is house trained, crate trained, enjoys having her toys around, and is a pretty good leash walker.
When it comes to other animals, Zara will need a patient and understanding home. She was previously attacked by another dog in her own yard and can now be reactive toward dogs while on leash. Her previous owner reports that once Zara has time to get to know a dog and feel comfortable, she enjoys playing with them.
Zara was also reactive toward a cat during a temporary foster stay. With so much change and stress in such a short period of time, it’s difficult to know how much her environment may have contributed to that reaction. For now, we know that Zara needs someone willing to be patient, give her time to decompress, and take introductions to other animals very slowly and carefully. She may also be perfectly happy as the one and only pet in her home.
Zara has so much love to give and deserves a family who will give her the time, security, and understanding she needs to feel safe.
