Story
Introducing Buddy! This 6 year old hunk of love is ready to be your new best friend.Buddy isn’t very conscious of his size, and he’s not very graceful. He loves to explore and will consider walking into just about any space to see what’s up including, but not limited to: that tiny corner between the couch and the wall, the bathtub, the closet, and even the dishwasher. He has the attention span of a toddler with a sugar rush and is best described as a clumsy, benign Godzilla who cruises around accidentally crashing into things.Don’t take that the wrong way- Buddy isn’t a master of destruction by any means. You can leave this good boy unsupervised and he isn’t going to eat your couch, your shoes, your electronics, or your kids’ homework. He’s just probably (definitely) going to walk into that floor lamp, trip on that amazon box, and maybe knock some things over. While Buddy likes to stay busy, he’s not an energetic basket case who is going to exhaust you. He has plenty of pep, but he’s at his happiest by your side whether on an adventure or binge watching TV while curled up in the laundry basket trying to convince you he deserves some popcorn. This boy is a 70lb heated blanket ready to snuggle all night long. He sleeps through the night and doesn’t even snore too loud!Buddy is great with other dogs- he has excellent manners and is very respectful of his grumpy foster siblings when they tell him to go away (although disappointed). He’d love a dog friend to play with, but he does run out of steam pretty quick (or just gets distracted)!Email Buddy’s foster mom at maria.anselmo@Montgomerycountymd.gov for more information on Buddy. You can find more photos and videos of Buddy here (including his `if I fits I sits` cat impression in the laundry basket): https://photos.app.goo.gl/swKiW6K12bKVmmu79

Story
Gypsy is located in TEXAS. There are not enough homes for all the unwanted dogs down there, so she is willing to relocate for a good, loving, forever home. Gypsy is a very good girl and is the most obedient dog I have ever seen. She knows how to sit and comes when called. She is housetrained and very well behaved in the house. She likes her crate and sleeps in it with the door open. She walks well on a leash and rides well in a vehicle. Gypsy loves her toys, especially squeaky ones, and she loves playing fetch. Gypsy is active - she loves to run and play with toys and other dogs. She loves water and lays in the wading pool when it is hot, and we bet she would love snow. She gets excited about squirrels, cats, and critters on the other side of the fence. Gypsy does well with all dogs but gets along best with male dogs. She is normally good around small dogs but occasionally mistakes one for a toy when she is over-excited. So she is not recommended for homes with small dogs. She is not too fond of puppies getting in her face either. Gypsy loves human attention and is good with children. She could perhaps use more obedience training with someone firm, patient, and loving. Gypsy is very sweet. She gets attached to her human and likes to lay under my desk when I work on the computer. Gypsy walks well on a leash and rides well in the car. She must be in the house as a loved family member, and she needs a yard with a 6' fence to run and play. Gypsy came from a bad home. She was not being fed and was severely underweight. So the people surrendered Gypsy and her puppies to animal control to avoid animal cruelty charges. Gypsys DNA test results are mostly Boxer, Husky, and German Shepherd. She bounces on her front legs when she is excited and we now know that comes from the Boxer in her. Gypsy is around 5 years of age and weighs 70 pounds (she only weighed 35 pounds when we got her). Gypsy is healthy. She is spayed, tattooed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. Gypsy had a light case of heartworms when we first got her. We used the slow-kill method (we are happy to explain this) and she is now negative for heartworms and on monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Gypsy's adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport to Hagerstown or Linthicum Heights MD. She is located in Texas and cannot be transported until after she is adopted. Story
They call me Exuberant, Handsome and Sweet but you can choose a new name for me when we adopt each other. I don’t care what you call me, as long as you call me. I’m a happy dog who loves people more than anything else in the world. I’m a 4 year old Pitbull Lab (?) mix, with a 22” collar and am very big and strong. The Vet said I weigh 73 pounds. Don’t let that scare you because I am just a mushy ball of love. I like to let everyone know how happy I am to see them by twirling around and wagging my tail as fast as it will go. This is usually when they call me Exuberant. I like to have fun. Because I’m such a good boy, I’m allowed in the house and have good potty manners. I prefer being inside with people at night especially. You can hold the TV remote for us. Since I have a lot of energy and need exercise, your large fenced yard will be well-used. My foster peeps say I need a family, not a job. They know that I’m a quick learner and will be someone’s best dog ever with some training. Because I’m big and young at heart, my new humans should have some experience with dogs and be able to work with someone of my stature. I promise I will try to do everything you ask enthusiastically. Fortunately, my past dog life doesn’t include any physical abuse so I’m not afraid of people or other animals. I don’t like loud booming noises (fireworks or dynamite) or gunfire so I wouldn’t be a good hunting dog. Health wise, I am terrific; up to date on shots and tested negative for heartworms. Recently I was tricked into getting “tutored” and woke up with my bubbles missing. Foster peeps say it means I will get my forever home very soon! Maybe it’s yours!
