Story
Gypsy is located in TEXAS. There are not enough homes for all the unwanted dogs down there, so she is willing to relocate for a good, loving, forever home. Gypsy is a very good girl and is the most obedient dog I have ever seen. She knows how to sit and comes when called. She is housetrained and very well behaved in the house. She likes her crate and sleeps in it with the door open. She walks well on a leash and rides well in a vehicle. Gypsy loves her toys, especially squeaky ones, and she loves playing fetch. Gypsy is active - she loves to run and play with toys and other dogs. She loves water and lays in the wading pool when it is hot, and we bet she would love snow. She gets excited about squirrels, cats, and critters on the other side of the fence. Gypsy does well with all dogs but gets along best with male dogs. She is normally good around small dogs but occasionally mistakes one for a toy when she is over-excited. So she is not recommended for homes with small dogs. She is not too fond of puppies getting in her face either. Gypsy loves human attention and is good with children. She could perhaps use more obedience training with someone firm, patient, and loving. Gypsy is very sweet. She gets attached to her human and likes to lay under my desk when I work on the computer. Gypsy walks well on a leash and rides well in the car. She must be in the house as a loved family member, and she needs a yard with a 6' fence to run and play. Gypsy came from a bad home. She was not being fed and was severely underweight. So the people surrendered Gypsy and her puppies to animal control to avoid animal cruelty charges. Gypsys DNA test results are mostly Boxer, Husky, and German Shepherd. She bounces on her front legs when she is excited and we now know that comes from the Boxer in her. Gypsy is around 5 years of age and weighs 70 pounds (she only weighed 35 pounds when we got her). Gypsy is healthy. She is spayed, tattooed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. Gypsy had a light case of heartworms when we first got her. We used the slow-kill method (we are happy to explain this) and she is now negative for heartworms and on monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Gypsy's adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport to Hagerstown or Linthicum Heights MD. She is located in Texas and cannot be transported until after she is adopted. Story
They call me Exuberant, Handsome and Sweet but you can choose a new name for me when we adopt each other. I don’t care what you call me, as long as you call me. I’m a happy dog who loves people more than anything else in the world. I’m a 4 year old Pitbull Lab (?) mix, with a 22” collar and am very big and strong. The Vet said I weigh 73 pounds. Don’t let that scare you because I am just a mushy ball of love. I like to let everyone know how happy I am to see them by twirling around and wagging my tail as fast as it will go. This is usually when they call me Exuberant. I like to have fun. Because I’m such a good boy, I’m allowed in the house and have good potty manners. I prefer being inside with people at night especially. You can hold the TV remote for us. Since I have a lot of energy and need exercise, your large fenced yard will be well-used. My foster peeps say I need a family, not a job. They know that I’m a quick learner and will be someone’s best dog ever with some training. Because I’m big and young at heart, my new humans should have some experience with dogs and be able to work with someone of my stature. I promise I will try to do everything you ask enthusiastically. Fortunately, my past dog life doesn’t include any physical abuse so I’m not afraid of people or other animals. I don’t like loud booming noises (fireworks or dynamite) or gunfire so I wouldn’t be a good hunting dog. Health wise, I am terrific; up to date on shots and tested negative for heartworms. Recently I was tricked into getting “tutored” and woke up with my bubbles missing. Foster peeps say it means I will get my forever home very soon! Maybe it’s yours! He will go to his new home neutered, current on vaccinations, deworming, preventives. He will be micro-chipped. He will receive a complete physical and a certificate of health issued by our vet prior to going home. The adopter will get all the health records with adoption. Aries was surrendered to the shelter when his owner could no longer keep him due to landlord issues. He is around a year old and weighs 53 pounds. Aries needed some time to adjust to shelter life but has come out of his shell and enjoys treats and going on walks! He is a shy at first with new people, but treats are the key to his heart! Aires knows sit but will need some work on other commands. He is a sweet guy that would love to have a second chance at finding a loving forever home! Aries has lived with children but may be too much for small children so an age restriction for children in the home may apply, please discuss this with shelter staff. Aries has been neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, Heartworm/lyme tested, and microchipped since his arrival at the shelter. Story
ADOPT ME ONLINE: https://ophrescue.org/dogs/13591Hi! My name is Betty Boop. I’m guessed to be a 3 year old mixed breed dog. My weight at the moment is 53 pounds. My potty training is coming along well. I have not had any accidents in a while. I have good leash manners and I especially like a brisk walk. I do tend to get excited when I see rabbits or other critters but I am learning to listen to my humans when they explain that I should leave the rabbits alone. I have not yet met any cats. I have good manners around the house and don't chew on anything except my toys and Nylabones. I prefer to sleep on a couch or a bed and I'm currently not a big fan of the crate but my foster family thinks I am smart and that I will get used to the crate before too long. I am mainly a quiet couch potato but I do sometimes like to play. I usually only bark if I'm outside or when I try to get my foster sibling to play with me. I am very sweet and love learning new things, especially from my human foster "sibling" who helped to teach me some of things I can now do, such as sit, give paw, spin around, go down, stay & then come. I am definitely food motivated! I love going for rides in the car and would really love to go for a ride to a dog park since my foster family thinks I would enjoy the socialization. I would do fine in a home where I am the only dog or in a home with other dogs or kids in the family. Probably a home without too much chaos would be best: if the door is opening and closing a lot, I might want to zip in and out too. I am super sweet, wag a lot and will give kisses to anyone who wants them.

Story
Sultan was saved from a kill shelter in North Carolina roughly 7 years ago. He came home with me almost immediately. I worked at the vets office he was neutered at. I fell head over heels for him. We brought him home after he healed so he could meet our other dog. They clicked easily. We do have a fenced in yard, so he would require one of those. He does walk on a leash, but not the best. He loves to chew! I do have two bones I can send with him! He needs somewhere he can run. He has a lot of energy left in him for an 8 year old! He truly is super sweet. I have never had him around cats and he's only been around my one dog. I never socialized him due to not knowing his entire history. But he's never showed any aggression towards other dogs. He does play rough with my other dog. So, I wouldn't suggest him going with an older dog. He loves to snuggle. He wants to be touching you at ALL times.

Pax came to us from a multiple-dog family, so he is good with other dogs. He's also great with the children in his foster home. He's looking for a forever home . . . how about yours? He is food motivated and an enthusiastic student when training. He rides comfortably in a car, is house trained, crate trained and leash trained. He has been surrounded by a loving foster family but his public exposure has been limited. Obedience classes would be great once he's comfortable in a new environment. They would reinforce the training he's had, and would widen his world, showing him unknown humans are a source of positive attention and rewards.
