Story
Aspen is a bouncy, outgoing dog who is still learning how to best express his excitement. He would do well in an active home with humans who will support and encourage him as he becomes the best version of himself.OTHER PETS: Aspen does not take feedback from other dogs and was singularly focused on attempting to mount the dogs he did meet. Mounting behavior may diminish after neuter, but it can also be a stress signal, either way we feel the best home for Aspen would be as an only pet. [Should Be Only Pet]OWNER EXPERIENCE: Aspen is a people-friendly, high energy dog who will need support and guidance as he begins his positive training journey. Aspen's best match would be with someone who has both experience with strong dogs and experience training dogs with positive reinforcement - with the right support he could do all sorts of fun or helpful activities. [Very Experienced]KIDS: Aspen is uncomfortable with a lot of handling and frequently jumps & pokes with his muzzle. While positive training and trust building will help Aspen learn appropriate behavior, he is not a good fit for homes with children or frequent child visitors. [Adults Only]ACTIVITY LEVEL: Aspen has a lot of energy and would do best with a combination of multiple daily walks and playtimes (supervised if outside) to ensure he is too tired to get into mischief, as well as plenty of mental enrichment. Positive reinforcement training may enable Aspen to participate in dog sports like dock-diving or flyball with vet approval, or become an adventure companion with his humans. [Good Walking Buddy / Olympic Athlete]VETERINARY CARE: [Routine] GROOMING: [Minimal] LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED: Aspen is just beginning his positive reinforcement training journey and will need extra support since he is starting a little late. Posititve reinforcement training will help Aspen bond with his new owner as well as help him learn basic cues and skills. Ongoing positive training may also enable Aspen to participate in dog sports (with vet approval) or act as a human adventure companion. [Moderate / Intense]March 19, 2025, 6:45 pm

Story
Meet Jiggy, he’s a stunning 1 yr old pup who loves everyone and everything. Jiggy was adopted as a pup and sadly his family could no longer keep him, he found himself in need of a furever home. He is simply amazing- he is smart, sweet, loving, friendly and playful. Jiggy gets along well with other dogs, he enjoys playing, going for walks and snuggling. He is wonderful with new people and loves having his back scratched. Jiggy is crate and leash trained, he is housebroken and knows basic commands. Jiggy is just about perfect, he is only missing a family to love him. Jiggy is hw ( heartworm) negative, fully vetted, spayed/neutered and microchipped. Story
Hi, my name is Odin! I am a sweet boy who loves people. I am a gentle giant who even knows some tricks! I may be able to live in a home with another dog if we are introduced at the shelter first. Cats are too tempting and shouldn`t live with any. I seem to do well with kids but I don`t always know my own strength. I am on a special diet because I do suffer from allergies. Please meet me today!

Story
BREED:  Dogo ArgentinoAGE: 10 monthsDOGS:  YesCATS:  YesKIDS:  Yes **Accepting Applicants with Large Breed Experience Only**This gorgeous girl is just under one years old and weighs approximately 45 pounds.  We expect she will gain at least another 20 pounds as she grows.  Paris loves to play and go on walks so will require an active family to keep up with her energy level.  As much as she loves to play, her snuggle game is strong and she will be your best buddy for movie night.  Paris is truly going to be one family’s dream dog.  A little about the breed:  the Dogo Argentino was bred to be a working dog, is a very smart breed and as most smart working breeds they can be stubborn, loyal and protective.  For these reasons applicants must have large breed experience and commit to positive, consistent training methods and proper socialization for Paris so she continues to be her best self. Paris has lived with dogs and has done well with the dog in her foster care home.  To ensure the best fit, we will require multiple meet and greets with any applicant’s dog(s).  She did well when cat tested. Paris is wonderful with children who are sturdy on their feet as she’s a big goofy puppy and can unintentionally knock over the littles.Paris’s heart and love for people is as big as her fun loving energy.  If she may be the dog to complete your family apply today!https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=meridenhumanesociety&method=online_form_html&formid=27
