Story
Meet Jax! An eight-year-old Boxer mix who is ready to travel anywhere for his forever family! Weighing in at a solid 70 pounds, Jax might just think he's a lap dog with his affectionate, sloppy kisses and an unwavering desire to be close to his humans. Imagine this gentle giant curled at your feet, or better yet, joining in a lively game of keep-away with gleeful children. His joy is palpable, especially when he performs his signature "jumping jax" at the mere mention of a walk! Jax has a heart full of resilience and love, ready to bring warmth to any family. Though he prefers not to be left alone for long, he’s a perfect companion when around other dogs he knows or people—even if just in another room. He adores the great outdoors, and his enthusiasm shines during playdates and adventures at the local dog park. He’s sociable with dogs of all sizes, though his recall may need a little polish—Jax is ever curious about the wildlife he encounters! Living with Jax means embracing his high-energy spirit and managing his sensitive stomach with the right diet. An enclosed yard, constant companionship, and a routine filled with walks and playtime would ensure his days are as joyful as he is. Does your home have room for a big-hearted boxer mix with a love for life? Could you be the one to keep Jax's tail wagging happily ever after? If so, please contact us at adopt@joyfulpets.com, and let's chat about the joy Jax can bring into your life! Also, Jax is open to a long-distance adoption—love knows no distance when finding your perfect companion!

Story
Meet Spade! A spirited two-and-a-half-year-old Boxer/American Pitbull Terrier mix currently in Tinton Falls, NJ, whose essence is a vibrant burst of joy wrapped in a sleek black coat with striking white accents. At around 55 pounds, Spade is a medium-sized charmer who has mastered the art of being both a playful goofball and an affectionate constant companion. If he had his way, he would spend every day curled up as close to his favorite people as possible! Whether he is soaking up sunshine in the yard, roughhousing with enthusiasm, or snuggling beneath a blanket, Spade approaches life with his whole heart. One of his most endearing quirks is his nightly blanket routine. He loves wiggling and burrowing until he creates the perfect cozy nest for sleep. He is also a huge fan of rump scratches and responds with an adorable full-body dance when you find just the right spot! Crinkle toys and interactive toys keep him entertained, and he enjoys car rides, swimming adventures, and plenty of outdoor enrichment in a fully fenced yard. Spade knows “sit” and “paw,” is house-trained, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. He does well when left alone for reasonable periods and follows a simple routine of twice-daily meals, exercise, and relaxation. Loud noises, storms, and strangers approaching the house can make him uneasy, and he receives daily Fluoxetine to help manage anxiety. Spade needs a loving home where he can be the only pet. As he matured, he developed resource guarding behaviors around food, toys, and other high-value items, which led to serious altercations with another dog in the home that required intervention and veterinary care. Because these situations can arise with little warning, he is not compatible with other dogs or cats and needs a pet-free environment where he can feel secure. With people, Spade is incredibly affectionate and has no history of biting. He prefers not to be disturbed while eating and may give a brief growl if startled awake from a deep sleep to communicate that he needs space. He does best with calm, respectful teenagers or young adults who understand canine boundaries. In the right home, Spade's loving, goofy, and devoted personality truly shines! With the right environment Spade will reward his new family with endless affection, laughter, loyalty, and companionship. Could your family be the next chapter in this lovable boy’s story? Story
Meet Moon Pie Almost 2 years | 80 lbs | Spayed | House-trained | Ready for her person Moon Pie isn’t for everyone—and that’s exactly why she hasn’t landed yet. She’s a **big, athletic, high-drive dog** who bonds hard to her human and expects real engagement. If you want a casual pet, keep scrolling. If you want a **loyal, smart, ride-or-die companion**—keep reading. The Dog Boxer × Hanging Tree mix = brains, speed, and intensity. She loves people. Like, *thinks she’s a lap dog* loves people. She wants connection, structure, and a job—even if that job is hiking beside you every day. She’s house trained, fully vetted, and physically thriving. Her Past (and Why It Matters) Moon Pie survived being trapped under a pallet, leaving a scar on her back. That scar? Cosmetic. What matters is this: **she’s tough, resilient, and she came back stronger.** Moon Pie needs: ✔ Structure, not chaos ✔ Daily physical exercise (not a backyard lap) ✔ Mental work (training, tasks, engagement) ✔ A handler who understands high-drive dogs She has had conflict with a similarly matched female dog. For success, we are placing her as: ✔ Only dog OR ✔ With a calm, opposite-sex dog after proper intro Ideal Home You’re a fit if you: • Like dogs with *presence* • Understand energy and arousal—not just “obedience” • Want a dog that actually **does life with you** • Aren’t intimidated by a strong, smart dog Straight Truth Moon Pie is not “too much.” She’s just been waiting for someone who’s enough. Right now, she’s getting passed over by people who don’t understand her. That’s fine. We’re looking for the one who does. Location Greeneville, TN Transport options available for the right home If you’ve owned working or high-drive dogs and you’re ready for one that will **lock onto you and not look back**, apply now. If you’re unsure—this isn’t your dog.
