Story
SKY is an INCREDIBLE dog; affectionate, super smart, well trained and HAPPY! She's been in our foster program since mid- August on our Hudson Valley ragion (foster) Puppy Farm and has learned so much in the time we have had her! SKY loves hikes/walks/runs and is excellent with humans of all ages. She does well with friendly, approachable dogs who appreciate a "big" play style. She is vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. SKY will keep you laughing all day; she is as hilarious and goofy as she is loving and cuddly. She loves being around people but will happily hang by herself as well. She is crate trained and has absolutely no issues being alone. SKY is petite for a full grown #dogoargentino and weighing around 80 lbs. While she’s completely deaf, she is JUST like any other dog. She communicates with sign cues that are very easy to learn and is super bright! SKY is fostered in the Hudson Valley Region of NY (Columbia County) but can be adopted anywhere within driving distance, out of state is ok, as is Canada! To apply, head to mrbonesandco.org/adopt or email Elli@mrbonesandco.org See all her posts on IG under #adoptskymbc or follow her foster mom and see her stories and story archives for real time updates at @ellifranknyc Thank you!

Story
Gru is one year and seven months old, is super playful and gets along really well with children. He’s very friendly, but he prefers that people approach him calmly and not invade his personal space unexpectedly. We bought him from an Argentinian family who lives in Staten Island. We are looking for a lovely family who owns a house because he is a big dog, and he really needs space.

** $495 in pledges for the rescue that pulls ** ** EXTENDED! ** Boulder ACCT-A-218297 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to length of stay and lack of space for incoming dogs. Boulder must have confirmed placement with an ADOPTER or RESCUE PARTNER by SUNDAY, MAY 18TH at 10AM. Should Boulder’s medical or behavioral status change, his urgency and timeline for placement may also change. Due to being significantly overcapacity with animals and higher than usual intake, extensions are unlikely to be granted. If you are interested in an animal please contact ACCT Philly immediately. Due to limited space, timestamps may also be proceeded with early so it is imperative to let us know if you are considering adopting or tagging an animal. Meet Boulder, a dog who truly lives up to his name! This strong-willed jumbo-sized pup is looking for just the right adopter to get him out of the shelter for good. Boulder arrived at ACCT Philly on April 22nd after being found running loose. He may tip the scales at 81 pounds, but Boulder is truly a puppy - estimated to be just two years old. Throughout his shelter stay, Boulder has won over numerous staff and volunteers with his easygoing, laidback nature and moderate energy level that has made walking him a breeze. This big boy would love to find a caring adult-only home of experienced dog owners who can lend him a helping paw with his training and teach him to be the very best boy he can be. Boulder has a tendency to try to mount other dogs as well as humans, which can be a bit challenging to redirect at times due to his large size. For this reason Boulder requires a home without young children for the time being, while he works on improving his manners. Boulder is friendly and exuberant when it comes to interacting with his fellow canines; however, he is a bit socially awkward and doesn’t always understand when other pups need space or aren’t interested in playing with him. Boulder does well with tolerant, large dogs who can match his play style and aren’t too bothered by Boulder’s headstrong personality. Boulder would be happy to meet other dogs at the shelter prior to adoption, to ensure they get along and can handle all 81 pounds of him! Sadly, Boulder has not yet found his perfect match. Due to lack of space in the shelter, Boulder must find placement with adopter or rescue partner no later than May 17th at 10am. Please read through Boulder’s notes below to see if he could be the one for you! VIDEOS Meet Boulder: https://youtu.be/U1SnFGyAy9U Petting Boulder: https://youtube.com/shorts/aTjAsR8Izo8?feature=share Boulder and Snowman dog meet: https://youtu.be/OBgwtnyDOBY?feature=shared Boulder and Snowman dog meet part 2: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/IKJWfEOfUUA BEHAVIORAL INFORMATION Throughout his shelter stay, Boulder has impressed staff and volunteers with his great manners while on walks! His walk sheet notes that he usually has a low to medium energy level, and has minimal issues leaving his kennel or returning to it. He pulls a bit on his leash, but has no issues with shyness, mouthing, or jumping on people. He was noted to sometimes attempt to mount his handler or other dogs. Staff noted on 4/29: “Took on a walk, had thoughts of mounting coming out of the kennel - faced me, sniffed crotch, but a leash tug away and he kept walking. Once outside after 3 minutes we stopped walking and I pet him and engaged with him, and you could see that he thought about mounting again, but another light leash, and he stopped his train of thought and did not escalate to humping. He allowed me to handle him, check his teeth, and he took treats slightly intensely and consistently. I bent down on the ground, and he came over to me and solicited some petting and made no attempt to help. While walking about two minutes later, he circled back behind the handler and attempted to mount, but the handler moved away, and he did not continue to try. He was easy to return to kennel.” During playgroup on 4/26, staff noted: “Boulder was not steerable AT ALL. He went into the yard very stiff and forward but warmed up with some push and pull play. he loved running around with the other dogs and was tolerant of another male dog mounting him. He did not take any corrections from dogs or the people and we used all kinds of correction tools so we had to remove him from the yard.” Staff noted on 4/26: “Boulder kept mounting people and dogs in the playgroup. He knocked down a staff member trying to get him off her (from mounting, size and strength). I got him off and wrapped him around the gate but he started moving it trying to get near me.” Staff noted on 4/24: “TTA, no aggression shown in any way, but persistently mounted everyone in the room relentlessly. do to large size and difficulty to handle. [Giving time to adjust] to try again when he's calmed down.” Boulder’s 4/22 intake notes stated: “Officer was called to location by person that found dog loose and was able to leash dog. Dog allowed handling and remained loose body but curious of surroundings.” MEDICAL INFORMATION Boulder was noted to have developed an upper respiratory infection on 4/27, and was started on a course of medication. On 5/8 it was observed that his URI symptoms were worsening despite medication; he was assessed by a veterinarian and found to have a complicated URI with concern for infectious bronchopneumonia. Boulder was given an additional medication to help him recover, and was monitored closely for further issues. Boulder is set to finish his medications on 5/17. ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia. We are open for adoptions 7 days a week. Please visit www.acctphilly.org/adopt for details. If you are a rescue interested in pulling this animal, please email our lifesaving team, or visit here if you are not currently a rescue partner: https://acctphilly.org/acct-philly-love-local-partnership-program/ Confirmed placement is considered confirmation of an actual rescue pull. Possible placement, interested parties, and other "TBD" statuses are not considered confirmed and do not indicate an animal is no longer urgent. All animals at ACCT Philly are from Philadelphia, as the only open intake animal shelter in Philadelphia, we are not able to accept animals from outside of Philadelphia. ACCT Philly's Pennsylvania kennel license number is 08313.

Story
She is a loving, gentle, and incredibly loyal companion who bonds quickly with her people. She loves going outside, taking long walks, and sniffing everything she can, she could explore for an hour if you let her lol. She also knows how to bark on command (we were shocked the first time she did it!), and she enjoys belly rubs more than anything. Her favorite treat in the world is strawberries she absolutely loves loves them. She’s affectionate, friendly, and would make a wonderful addition to a home that can give her plenty of love, attention, and outdoor time. We would prefer if she goes to a family or a couple, just someone who has time to attend to her needs.

Story
Luna is a good dog. She’s protective of her owner, nothing to drastic. She’s very lovable but she has to warm up to you. She has separation anxiety with who ever she is attached to. But she loves walks and likes to drink out of the toilet bowl so be careful when you go to use the bathroom haha. But overall Luna is so full of life and is so lovable she just needs someone to love her as much as the love she gives out. Luna is 6 years old, I adopted when she was only a 1 years old. These past 5 years have been wonderful with her she’s such a character. She needs someone who will be her best friend and give her the world because that’s exactly what she’ll be for you.
