Meet Delilah! A retired queen who has officially mastered the art of peaceful living. At around 10 years old, this sweet boxer/American Bully mix has absolutely zero interest in drama, chaos, or unnecessary cardio. Delilah’s perfect day consists of finding the coziest possible spot in the house, settling into it like she pays the bills, and occasionally wandering outside to enjoy a little sunshine before returning to her scheduled relaxation time. And honestly? She’s earned it. Delilah has the squishiest little face and the softest, sweetest eyes that always look like she’s about to tell you everything is going to be okay. She’s one of those dogs whose presence just feels comforting. Calm. Easy. Familiar. She lives with multiple dogs in her foster home and does wonderfully as long as everyone respects her space and keeps things calm. She greets dogs politely, has excellent social skills, and honestly prefers to simply coexist rather than actively interact. Think “nice neighbor” more than “party host.” If another dog gets too pushy, jumpy, or overly excited in her face, Delilah will absolutely let them know she’d prefer some personal space — and honestly, fair enough. She gives very appropriate, clear corrections and then immediately moves on with her day like a mature grown woman who has no time for nonsense. She doesn’t hold grudges, she doesn’t create chaos, she just likes respectful roommates. And the cat test? Iconic. They brought the cat into the room, and Delilah basically glanced over, sniffed the air for a second, and then decided it simply was not her business. She turned around and went right back to relaxing. Truly unmatched levels of minding her own business. Because she’s such a low-energy, easygoing girl, Delilah could absolutely do well in an apartment — ideally a quieter one or maybe a first-floor setup since she’s an older lady. But honestly, her DREAM would probably be a peaceful home with a little backyard where she can slowly wander around, sunbathe, and have her own cozy outdoor lounging spot. I can fully picture her with a little cot outside just peacefully supervising the yard like a retired grandma on vacation. She would do best in a calmer home without super rowdy dogs or puppies constantly in her space. A mellow respectful dog companion would be perfectly fine, but she’d also probably be very content as your one-and-only spoiled couch potato. Delilah isn’t trying to be the life of the party anymore. Life with Buster Sweets looks a lot like this: a loyal little sidekick who's always happy to see what you're up to, always ready to join in, and always up for ending the day with a cuddle on the couch. His foster says his favorite thing about him is how sweet he is, how outgoing he becomes once he's comfortable, and how much he genuinely enjoys being part of whatever's happening. He has a wonderful way of making everyday moments just a little bit better, whether that's following you around the house to see what you're doing or hopping onto the couch to snuggle after a fun day. As with any rescue puppy, his exact breed is always a mystery, but our best guess is he's a Boxer and Pittie mix. Whatever combination created him also gave him an adorable face, a fun-loving personality, and a size that we think will stay on the smaller side once he's fully grown. Buster is curious, playful, and always excited to see what the day has in store. Exploring the backyard, checking out new smells, chasing toys, or carrying one around the house... he's convinced life is meant to be enjoyed. He loves being involved in whatever his people are doing and is happiest when he gets to tag along. Whether you're making dinner, working in the yard, or relaxing in the living room, Buster is perfectly content simply being part of it all. One of our favorite things about Buster is the balance he has between his playful side and his affectionate side. Once he's comfortable, his outgoing personality really shines. After he's gotten some playtime in, he's more than happy to climb onto the couch and snuggle up beside you. His foster says he's incredibly sweet and loves being close to his people, making him the kind of dog that's just as rewarding to relax with as he is to play with. Buster is also one smart little guy. He already knows how to sit, and if you happen to have a treat in your hand, you'll definitely have his full attention. Treats are absolutely one of the quickest ways to his heart, and his eagerness to learn makes us think he'll have a lot of fun continuing his training with his future family. His foster says Buster is kennel trained and does very well in his crate. He's also about 90% potty trained. Like any young dog, he still has a small bladder, so he'll do best with regular potty breaks throughout the day as he continues building consistency. Buster enjoys playing with other dogs and would likely love a playful canine companion, but we also think he'd do wonderfully as the only dog as long as he has a family that's excited to include him in everyday life. He's also spent time around children between the ages of 5 and 8 and has been nothing but gentle with them. We think he has all the makings of a wonderful family dog. It's important to remember, though, that Buster can be a little shy when meeting new people or adjusting to new places. Like many rescue dogs, he'll simply need a little time to decompress, settle into his new routine, and let his personality blossom. Once he does, you'll discover the sweet, outgoing little guy his foster has completely fallen in love with. Buster has such a wonderful balance to him. He's playful without being over-the-top, affectionate without being clingy, and curious enough to make every day a little more fun. More than anything, he simply wants to be included. Kenji Cowboy has that sweet, slightly bashful charm that makes you want to earn your way into his heart and inner circle. He is gentle, handsome, and a little unsure when something is brand new, but give him a moment to take it all in and a treat for good measure, and you will quickly see what a lovely young dog he is. Kenji is still figuring out the world, and he approaches it thoughtfully, with soft manners, a curious heart, and an increasingly brave little cowboy spirit. He is currently fostered in a loving home with other dogs and has been getting plenty of opportunities to experience life beyond the house too. His foster regularly brings him along for patio lunches and dinners in the city, and Kenji handles those outings with a wonderfully calm demeanor for such a young dog. He is not trying to work the room or introduce himself to every person who passes. He is much more content hanging with his person, watching the world go by, and quietly taking everything in. He has good basic leash skills and is treat motivated and eager to learn, giving his future family a really nice foundation to continue building on. Kenji is dog friendly and wonderfully polite when meeting new dogs. He can be shy at first and prefers a little time to decide that his new acquaintance is, in fact, friend material. Once he warms up, he is a sweet and gentle playmate. He is not the type to barrel into an introduction demanding immediate friendship, and his softer approach makes him especially endearing. One thing that can convince this reserved cowboy to cut loose? The water hose. Kenji loves playing in the water, and it is an adorable glimpse of the silly young dog underneath that initially cautious exterior. He is also a great car companion once aboard. Kenji has not quite cracked the complicated engineering problem of getting himself into the car yet, so he currently appreciates a little boost. Once inside, however, he settles in and rides peacefully and happily. Kenji was polite when introduced to our house cat, although he was clearly unsure what exactly he was supposed to make of this strange little creature. Because he does not currently live with cats, we would recommend some initial boundaries, thoughtful introductions, and supervision if his future home includes a feline friend while everyone gets comfortable with one another. At nine months old, Kenji still has plenty to learn, but there is something really special about the foundation already there. He is gentle, affectionate, observant, dog friendly, easy to take out into the world, and very willing to learn when treats are part of the negotiation. He may need a little encouragement for some of life's firsts, but every new experience is another chance for this sweet cowboy to discover that he can do it.
