Story
Meet William, a distinguished eight and a half year old male Boxer/Staffy mix. William was found tied to a tree at a local park on a cold winter day before being brought in by animal control. We don't know why anyone would leave this boy and his big toothy grin behind! William has been with us since November so when he gets out of his kennel he has a bit of energy, but after a 5-10 minute walk he really settles down and can show you all the tricks he knows (these include sit, shake and down as you can see in the video). William loves human attention and affection, he might be getting up there in years but he acts more like an adult dog than a senior. William keeps a clean kennel and is very treat motivated so he should be easy to train if you want to teach him a few new tricks. He went to the SunDome for the March Muttness event and did amazing! He was quiet for the whole event and walked with both the staff and the public. William had no issue being petted or approached by the crowd while kenneled and loved getting treats. He spend most the night looking around and watching all the action, he was just happy to be a part of it! William would love to find a home to call his own and hopes he will find one soon, with a heart of gold and some grey fur on the muzzle we know he deserves it. If you are interested in adopting this pet please fill out an adoption questionnaire at www.yakimahumane.org. A Yakima Humane Society staff member will contact you once your questionnaire has been processed. Adopters are welcome to visit the adoption center Monday-Saturday. A Picture says 1000 words...right? While an animal's picture draws interest, the reality is that as a potential adopter most people would like as much information as possible about a pet. The Yakima Humane Society is an open admission shelter. What does this mean? Over 90% of the pets at the adoption center arrive as strays, no history of behavior or medical care is known. Adding a pet to your family is a big responsibility. Please research carefully and remember that adoption is life saving. Adopt Don't Shop.
