Story
William went to the SunDome for the March Muttness event and did amazing! He was quiet for the whole event and walked with both the staff and the public. William had no issue being petted or approached by the crowd while kenneled and loved getting treats. He spend most the night looking around and stoically watching all the action.Meet William, an 8-year-old male Boxer mix.William was tied to a tree at a local park and brought in by animal control. William has been in a home because he is well cared for and already neutered. William gets excited to go out in the park and does pull on his leash to get to all the cool smells. He keeps a clean kennel and would love a yard to call his own. This pet is available for adoption on 11/16/23 at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. While an animal's picture draws interest, the reality is that as a potential adopter most people would like as much information as possible about a pet. The Yakima Humane Society is an open admission shelter. What does this mean? Over 90% of the pets at the adoption center arrive as strays, no history of behavior or medical care is known. Adding a pet to your family is a big responsibility. Please research carefully and remember that adoption is life saving. Adopt Don't Shop.

Story
Meet Birch, a 5-year-old male Pit Bull mix.Birch got his name because he was dumped at the shelter location on Birchfield rd. When staff was out feeding the feral lot cats, Birch limped right up for pets. He didn't seem to mind the cats and showed zero interest. Once Birch got some attention he followed shelter staff straight in the back door. Birch is a very handsome boy with a solid 65 pound build. His history is unknown but he is limping and has a scar on one leg too. Birch has a good body condition so was eating regular meals prior to his abandonment. He is looking for a forever home with a nice yard and a comfy dog bed. This pet is available for adoption on 10/19/23 at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center.
