This cute guy is Draco! Draco loves being around people – he is very cuddly and loves to give hugs and receive hugs. He is a playful, young guy looking for an active family who can provide lots of mental stimuli and physical activity to keep him healthy and happy. Since Draco did come in as a stray, we are unsure if he is housetrained and suggest a consistent potty routine in his new home to help him be the most successful. We are unsure if Draco has ever lived with kids before. We do suggest he live with kiddos 10 years of age and older. He may do well with kids younger than that, it would all depend on how the meet goes. We are unsure if Draco has ever lived with cats. We suggest slow introductions to any resident cat. We do feel he should do well in a home with another dog as long as the dog can handle his energy level and playstyle. *** As of March 12th 2024, Draco has been with the shelter for over 9 weeks waiting for his forever family. He can be a bit unsure at first but has quickly become a staff favorite and has recently started going on days out with our volunteers. He has had a great time! Here is what our volunteers have to say about him: “We got to walk on a trail and in the city, rest on the deck, nap inside and eat ice cubes today. Draco is sweet, food-motivated, and people-motivated. Bongo is on the lookout for friends who match his playful vibe and respect his space. We do require a dog meet at the shelter before adoption. He should do well in a home with kids. He thrives with respectful play and having space to himself at times. Bongo is not a big fan of cats and would need a household that is cat free. Here's an update from Bongo's Foster Home: "We’ve learned that Bongo knows the commands for sit, down, come here, and of course, “no!”. He loves to play fetch and is working on the “drop it” command. He will also go in his kennel when asked and sleeps there through the night. He is fully house-trained and quickly got into a good bathroom routine in the yard. When guests visit, he’s excited but has good manners and does not jump up on people!
