Story
Atlas - Energetic, snuggly 8 month old looking for his soulmate   In his short life Atlas has been bounced around a lot. Recently, he has been learning a lot including confidence and trust in his humans. It took Atlas about a month to decompress at his current foster home so he will require patience, trust, and a lot of positive reinforcement. He has so much love to give we know it’ll be worth it! He's so eager to please his humans in the house and will need to be supervised, corrected (when necessary), and given positive reinforcement for him to be a successful dog. He response well to a confident human so an experienced owner is recommended for Atlas. Atlas will require a slow introduction to other dogs as he doesn't like them in his face right when they meet (As is common in many dogs). After 10-15 minutes, when he’s comfortable, he will initiate play.  Atlas does enjoy wrestling with his 3 foster fur siblings, however, it will take him a while to adjust to not only a new doggie friend, but also a new routine and new home environment.  He loves to chase, wrestle, and howl when he's ready to play. Atlas can get a little jealous when the other dogs try to snuggle with his foster mom, but he takes corrects well and backs off. He loves women and loves his current foster dad, but sometimes, he is fearful of other men. He has been going out in public stores and working on his confidence. He loves getting treats from new friends, so we highly encourage his new family to continue doing that for positive experiences.  Atlas has been working very hard on his manners with the resident kitty. It took him a few weeks to understand he can't play with the cat whenever he wants. He is allowing the kitty to walk around the house without trying to chase her. He will do best with a dog savy cat or a home without a kitty friend.  Atlas is also working hard on his manners! He sits and waits until the food bowl is on the ground. He is also learning sit and wait hand signals and knows lay down. He take treats nicely, but if he gets a little too excited, he knows "nice". Atlas has great recall. He is such a human pleaser that he doesn't like to go far from them. He LOVES fetch! He loved all the toys but loves playing fetch. He will bring the ball back and drop it without you needing to tell him.  crate trained but is a big fan of cuddling with his humans Potty trained but it’s common for dogs especially ones who have been bounced around to need an adjustment period so he may have initial accidents in a new home okay with kids who are calmer and let him come on his terms but with a dog that is more on the shy/scared side, he needs to build trust with everyone he meets so we recommend no kids under 8.  loves being told when hes a "good boy". If you’re interested in adopting Atlas, and are Pre-approved, please private message us, or APPLY HERE: https://newleashdogrescue.com (or private message us if you’re already preapproved!) **Atlas’s  $250 adoption fee includes his neuter, vaccines to date, heartworm test, current vet check, and microchip. ##2302886##

It’s in the dogs/puppies best interest to be placed into their furever homes in a timely fashion. All household members must attend the meet and greet. Popsicle is the absolute best girl with a very wonderful personality. She does fine with all the foster dogs living in her current home. The only thing that she ask is that her crate can be her space and her space only where she can enjoy her dinner and high value treats alone. She has a very boxer style way of play so having a more mellow dog or someone that understands her type of play would be best. She’s such a happy girl so happy that she had to have her tail amputated due to a chronic happy tail situation so now she has a very cute little nub to solidify her boxer style!

Once you're in Benny's circle, you'll have a loyal best friend who wants to share every adventure—and every couch cushion—with you. Benny has a fun-loving personality that perfectly balances playful energy with snuggly affection. Be prepared to hold his paws while he stands in the pool with you! He's even started diving underwater to retrieve toys. A Big Softie: Benny may look tough, but he's one of the sweetest dogs you'll ever meet. When he's excited, he makes hilarious Chewbacca-like noises that perfectly match his goofy personality. He loves attention, thrives on affection, and forms incredibly strong bonds with the people he trusts. His foster describes him as funny, loving, and incredibly smart. He's the kind of dog who makes everyone smile just by being himself. Story
Hi there, my name is Lulu! I'm a 10 year-old spayed female Pit Bull Terrier. I am current on my vaccinations, microchipped and heartworm negative! 3 words that describe me: Cuddly, Spunky, Sweet Things my foster has to say about me: She's getting used to car rides and love pup-cups. She love walks and is SO GOOD with kids, even in groups. She seems to have a bit of prey drive (likes to chase after squirrels and bunnies in the backyard) She's such a sweetie and is definitely becoming one of our favs! Activity level/Energy Level: (1-10): 6/10 Housetraining Status: I was good at keeping my kennel clean but my foster mom says I need work on my potty training in my home. I'm getting used to my routine though! I should do well in a home: I should do well with children of all ages given proper supervision in the beginning. I should do well with other dogs given proper introductions and time to adjust because I did well in playgroups at CRHS. But, my friends at CRHS are unsure how I'd do with cats since I chase squirrels and bunnies in my foster home. My favorite activities are: I LOVE snuggling up with my humans and being involved in what they do. I love going for walks and really enjoy sitting out in the sunshine! Things I need work on are: Potty training routine Doggy day out notes: "Lulu is an nice and easy going dog. When on our walk she stayed by me and paid little mind to the 2 dogs that passed us and other adults. She did great in the car too. At Pet Smart we didn’t see any other dogs and the staff liked her. She allowed them to pet her. Overall, Lulu had a great day and is a relaxed, easy going dog." My adoption fee is: $125 *If you are interested in adopting, please start by filling out an application available on our website and email it to us. https://www.couleehumane.com/adopt-an-animal

Story
Hello, my name is Gwen! I'm an 8-month-old female pitbull/shepherd mix. I am current on my vaccines, heartworm tested, and soon to be spayed and microchipped.3 words that describe me: Shy, Playful, AffectionateThings staff and volunteers have to say about me: I came to CRHS with my sister Mae Mae. Shelter life has been very scary for me, but I've been making progress every day! I love playing with toys and getting pets from people once I'm comfortable with them. Activity level/Energy Level: (1-10): 6 or 7/10Housetraining Status: I am working on it! A consistent schedule and lots of praise will help me learn. I should do well in a home: I lived with young children in my previous home so I should do well with children of all ages, however I would appreciate slow and calm introductions. I loved the cats in my previous home. I should do well with other dogs given proper introductions and time to adjust. My favorite activities are: Playing with my sister Mae Mae and getting affection from my favorite humans. Things I need work on are: Basic commands, housetraining, and walking on leashAny special needs: N/ADoggy day out notes:"Gwen started her Doggy Day Out with a walk around Myrick Park, which she enjoyed. She was a little pully with the leash, so more work on that is needed. We then chilled at the house, which Gwen did very well in. She was behaved and not mischievous. We then went on another walk around Myrick. Then we went to Dairy Queen, where Gwen enjoyed a nice pup cup. We think she's a fan of frozen treats. We then walked around Petsmart for an hour. At first she was a little nervous, but she got comfortable quickly. She's a very sweet girl and loves to get pets from her humans. When she is comfortable with you, you'll discover she LOVES belly rubs."Daycare Status: N/AMy adoption fee is: $300Training Requirement if applicable: N/A*If you are interested in adopting, please start by filling out an application available on our website and email it to us. https://www.couleehumane.com/adopt-an-animal
