Story
Atlas - Energetic, snuggly 8 month old looking for his soulmate   In his short life Atlas has been bounced around a lot. Recently, he has been learning a lot including confidence and trust in his humans. It took Atlas about a month to decompress at his current foster home so he will require patience, trust, and a lot of positive reinforcement. He has so much love to give we know it’ll be worth it! He's so eager to please his humans in the house and will need to be supervised, corrected (when necessary), and given positive reinforcement for him to be a successful dog. He response well to a confident human so an experienced owner is recommended for Atlas. Atlas will require a slow introduction to other dogs as he doesn't like them in his face right when they meet (As is common in many dogs). After 10-15 minutes, when he’s comfortable, he will initiate play.  Atlas does enjoy wrestling with his 3 foster fur siblings, however, it will take him a while to adjust to not only a new doggie friend, but also a new routine and new home environment.  He loves to chase, wrestle, and howl when he's ready to play. Atlas can get a little jealous when the other dogs try to snuggle with his foster mom, but he takes corrects well and backs off. He loves women and loves his current foster dad, but sometimes, he is fearful of other men. He has been going out in public stores and working on his confidence. He loves getting treats from new friends, so we highly encourage his new family to continue doing that for positive experiences.  Atlas has been working very hard on his manners with the resident kitty. It took him a few weeks to understand he can't play with the cat whenever he wants. He is allowing the kitty to walk around the house without trying to chase her. He will do best with a dog savy cat or a home without a kitty friend.  Atlas is also working hard on his manners! He sits and waits until the food bowl is on the ground. He is also learning sit and wait hand signals and knows lay down. He take treats nicely, but if he gets a little too excited, he knows "nice". Atlas has great recall. He is such a human pleaser that he doesn't like to go far from them. He LOVES fetch! He loved all the toys but loves playing fetch. He will bring the ball back and drop it without you needing to tell him.  crate trained but is a big fan of cuddling with his humans Potty trained but it’s common for dogs especially ones who have been bounced around to need an adjustment period so he may have initial accidents in a new home okay with kids who are calmer and let him come on his terms but with a dog that is more on the shy/scared side, he needs to build trust with everyone he meets so we recommend no kids under 8.  loves being told when hes a "good boy". If you’re interested in adopting Atlas, and are Pre-approved, please private message us, or APPLY HERE: https://newleashdogrescue.com (or private message us if you’re already preapproved!) **Atlas’s  $250 adoption fee includes his neuter, vaccines to date, heartworm test, current vet check, and microchip. ##2302886##

Story
*Boeing is currently being fostered at a Training Facility. Interested adopters will have an appointment scheduled to meet him after an adoption application has been approved Meet Boeing! Boeing is 1-2 years old and is thought to be a Hound/Boxer type mix. We can't know for sure without a DNA test, but we do know that he's 40 ish pounds of pure bred CUTE! Boeing came to us from another WI shelter because they were full/over capacity. Before that, Boeing belonged to someone who had unfortunately dumped him on a pretty busy road. As soon as the owner was contacted and confronted about his abandonment, they halted all contact with authorities and the shelter employees were never able to learn his real name. We do wish that we could find him justice, but at the end of the day, it's most important that he's safe and now he's ready to find a family who would never even think of doing something like that to him. No dog deserves that! Boeing is the sweetest boy. He's friendly, protective, active, seems to loves car rides & knows basic commands! He is one of the smartest dogs you could ever meet. He's young, so his new family should expect to continue any training needs he may still have. He should do well with other dogs and kids as long as everyone is properly introduced and supervised. We were told by the other shelter that he seems overly-interested around kitties, so he could potentially do well with the right experienced owner. Boeing has been severely let down by humans, which is hard to think about. However, all we can do now is focus on his bright & happy future! If you'd like to be a part of that journey, follow the link below! We are doing all meet n' greets BY APPOINTMENT ONLY after an adoption application has been generally approved: https://www.co.monroe.wi.us/departments/dog-control/online-animal-adoption-application Boeing is fully vaccinated and will be neutered prior to adoption. His adoption fee is $200.

Meet Popsicle! 🍦 This sweet girl is a golden eyed, beautiful boxer mix, and she’s finally learning what love really feels like. Popsicle spent over two years in a neglected rural shelter before being rescued — she was just a name on a forgotten list. But even after all that time, she’s full of joy, wiggles, and affection. Now thriving in her foster home, Popsicle is gaining confidence every day. She’s goofy, playful, and so eager to be part of a family. Whether she’s trotting alongside you on an adventure or curled up by your side for a snuggle, she just wants to love and be loved. She gets along well with other dogs but she prefers to keep high value things to herself so she utilizes her kennel for high value items. Popsicle is in fact so happy she has her tail amputated due to injury from constant wagging! This girl has come so far. All she needs now is a forever home where she’ll never be overlooked again.

Story
Hello, my name is Baby Girl! I am an 8-year-old female pitbull/english bulldog mix. I am current on my vaccines, heartworm tested, spayed, and microchipped. 3 words that describe me: Playful, Affectionate, Cuddly Things staff and volunteers have to say about me: I'm a sweet old lady who's looking for a retirment home! Despite my age I still have some energy when excited. I LOVE playing with toys and I'm not picky about what kind! I get very excited when hearing my own name. When I've had my fill of playing I'd love nothing more than to cuddle up with my human (though I may try to climb in your lap). Activity level/Energy Level: (1-10): 6/10 Housetraining Status: I have been good at keeping my kennel clean, however it may take me some time to adjust to the schedule in my new home. I should do well in a home: I am required to meet any and all dogs in my potential home. I should do well with children of all ages. My friends at CRHS are unsure how I'd do with cats. My favorite activities are: Despite being a senior I still have a bit of energy and LOVE playing with toys! Things I need work on are: Basic commands, leash walking Any special needs: N/A Doggy day out notes: "Went on a nice little walk and she was so excited she ran for a little bit, and played with toys later." Story
**I am an extended stay friend at the shelter, therefore my adoption fee is 50% off!** Hi! My name is Zailey I am a 5-year-old, spayed Pit Bull Terrier. I am microchipped, heartworm tested and current on my vaccines. 3 words that describe me: Playful, Affectionate, Goofy Things staff and volunteers have to say about me: I am a goofy girl who is very food motivated and eager to learn! If you have a treat, I’ll do anything you want! I love going on walks and getting all my energy out. Once I’ve had my exercise I love to snuggle up on the couch with my humans. I would love an adult only home as I have boundaries that I need respected. Activity level/Energy Level (1-10): 7 or 8/10 Housetraining Status:I am working on it! A consistent schedule and lots of praise will help me learn even faster! I should do well in a home: I will need to meet any and all dogs in my potential household. I will need a home with adults only, and no cats or other small animals. Favorite Activities: Getting affection and following my favorite people around is the best! I LOVE to do tricks and agility if you have treats to offer me. Doggy Day Out Notes: This lovely girl did great on our day out. I think today was a much needed day away from all the chaos for her. She was great in the car, never barked, and was very affectionate with gentle kisses and lots of belly rubs while we hung out. She took a great nap in a cozy chair and then was charged up to play but never got too wild or crazy. Amazing dog and she would be an amazing sdekick!" "She is such a sweet dog. She loves looking out the window on car rides, and she even rolled down the window herself at one point. She was very treat motivated and sat, laid down, and did shake for a treat. She saw a ton of people today, she did great, was very sweet and wanted all the attention. She pulls a little on leash and gets excited especially when going in the pet store but she does listen well when redirected! She is a great dog!" "Zailey did so well today! She met a couple new people. She got a little chilly when we went to get coffee so we brought her back home and she curled up on the couch and took a big nap, she was snoring :) She did great with everyone she met and loved her new toy. She was so happy to be in a home setting, didn’t have any accidents all day!" Things I need work on are: Basic Commands and leash walking Any special needs: N/A My adoption fee is: $300 but because I have been here for WAY over 30 days, my adoption fee is 50% off Training Requirement if applicable: $0 *If you are interested in adopting, please start by filling out an application available on our website and email it to us. https://www.couleehumane.com/adopt-an-animal
