Meet Missy — a 4-year-old, 62 lb Dogue de Bordeaux and Pittie mix with the signature charm, strength, and sensitivity this unique combo is known for.
Dogs like Missy don’t come around often. She’s the perfect blend of the Dogue de Bordeaux’s loyal, protective nature and the Pittie's affectionate, eager-to-please personality. That means you get a dog who’s deeply bonded to her people, incredibly smart, and always ready for fun, whether it’s a beach day, a long walk, or a quiet cuddle session on the couch.
Missy and her nine puppies were rescued from the South LA shelter in January. She was an incredible mama, and now that her pups have found their own families, it’s her turn. In her foster home, Missy has proven to be well-mannered, emotionally resilient, and wonderfully goofy. She respects boundaries, follows house rules, and is both crate-trained and house-trained. She knows her basic commands, loves to learn, and responds well to calm, confident leadership.
She lives peacefully with a male foster sibling and has shown that with proper introductions, she can be social and playful with other dogs. Like many large breed females, she thrives in a structured environment where her space is respected. She’s not one for chaos, but she’s absolutely here for consistency, routine, and respect.
Missy is athletic and thrives with regular walks, hikes, or outings. She would do well in a home with a yard or in an active apartment with an engaged adopter who understands large breed needs. She’s not a dog who demands attention 24/7, she’s independent and relaxed, but when she bonds with you, it’s for life.
