Story
This is Miss Hope she is a loveable 3 legged love bug of a pibble! 🐾 My foster mom tells me I'm the bestest good girl. I only eat and tear up my stuffed animals. I do not attempt to eat shoes and do not get into the garbage (no matter how stinky it is). 🐶 🐾 I get told that I am a beautiful girl and how friendly I am. 🐾 I am estimated to be about 2-3 years old and weighed 45-50lbs. This is my ideal weight I am spayed, heartworm negative, and I believe I'm up to date on my vaccines. I will need a heart worm preventative monthly or a yearly shot. 🐾 I'm extremely friendly, happy and super dog & people friendly. 🐾 I love going on walks or snuggling up. Most of all, I love being with my people. I love my current human neighbors and can recognize their cars. I sit in the window and "puppy whine" to get their attention while I'm indoors. I love sleeping in bed with you at night and cuddling. Occasionally if I get too hot at night, I may nap in my doggy bed❤️ 🐾 I love other dogs, my former best friend was a chihuahua mix with pomeranian ( he got adopted). My current besties are a chihuahua and a big white German shepherd (My foster Mom calls him my boyfriend!!) 🐾 I get excited around small humans under 6 yrs old, but I do well with older children. 🐾 I can be a strong walker on the leash when I see a potential dog friend or new people friend I whine and tend to pull. 🐾 I know basic commands like "sit", "lay down", "leave it", "come" and we are working on "stay" ( I just have a hard time containing myself). 🐾 I am not crate trained but I will go into my crate when I feel like it. I do very well when left home alone in the home. 🐾 I am potty trained. I know the word "potty" and will whine and/or bark to let you know that it's "Potty Time!" and after poo-ing outside I get "potty cookies". Upon first coming into foster I poo-ed inside a couple of times but picked up potty training quickly. 🐾 I Absolutely "LOVE" going "Bye- Bye" (and I know that word and am ready to GO!!) in the car and I usually rub up against the back seat and look out the window. 🐾 I have lots of love to share and I'm so ready to find my forever home 💕 🐾 I don't know the word "Shake" nor "Paw" but I will give you my paw, when I feel like doing it. 🐾 I take treats gently but I sometimes have to be reminded to be "Nice". 🐾 I know that I can get super excited during playtime. My 3 legged zooming are a hoot to watch 😆 and if I forget and get nippy during play, I respond very well to the words "Be Sweet!". 🐾 I promise that I am the Bestest Good Girl EVER!!

Story
Introducing Larson! For those of you who have been holding out for a big boy - here he is in all his glory! Larson will make your couch look small - but he will also make your heart swell! We got this boy as an emergency surrender. We were actually taking Laser, another Rebel Dog, in for his second eye enucleation surgery when someone rushed in looking to euthanize Larson at our vet. Larson had bit someone because he was suffering from pain in his hind leg. He has a limp - due to painful overgrown dewclaws. Seeing this happy, goofy, big boy who clearly has a lot of potential, we opted to step in and offered to save his life as a surrender. We have spent the past two weeks getting to know Larson, and have found him a laid back guy with a sense of adventure and humor. We have already scheduled his dewclaw removal surgery. We are hopeful this will help Larson feel better and that he can live a long life, pain-free in a loving home. Animals bite when in pain. They almost always tell us that they are going to bite -with whatever language is available to them - prior to biting. We can help them expand their language, but first- it is our job to learn how to read the language they currently have, and help them feel safe around their boundaries and needs. We find that Larson has great communication skills and is ready to meet his new family very soon! We are looking for a foster or foster-to-adopt home for him. Interested? Story
Klutz alert! Slobber warning! Yak was secured as a a stray a while back, and has now spent some time with us at the shelter. While a young mastiff mix is not the perfect match for all households - we know there must be someone out there wanting Yak! 1 year old, clumsy and bouncy, already neutered and ready to learn everything you want to teach him! Yak loves sharing his affection and enthusiasm with everyone he meets. He wants to hold onto his toys, but still allows for some fetch play. Yak is not barking at the other dogs at the shelter. He is ready to go as a foster or a foster-to-adopt immediately. Yak is a big puppy who needs consistency and a small world to succeed. Please share and tag lovers of big boys. rebeldogsdetroit.com/applytoadopt Included in the adoption fee of $275 is up to date vet care, vaccines, dewormer microchip and neuter.
