Story
Skadi A18022082 lb. spayed female, approx , approx 2 years old 82 Pounds of Pure, Bouncy NonsenseMeet the dog who might actually be 50% canine, 50% bunny, and 100% chaos in a cute package. This big, beautiful gal doesn’t walk anywhere… she boings. Every direction. All the time. It’s like living with your very own oversized pogo stick. She has excellent manners and doesn’t jump on people……but she WILL hop near you, around you, and occasionally orbit you like you’re her personal moon.Outside? Oh, she’s a whole show. She bunny-hops, prances, and does interpretive dance routines that absolutely nobody asked for but everyone loves. She likes toys but hasn’t quite figured out how to “play” yet—think enthusiastic toddler energy but in an 82-pound body. She takes treats politely, but the “sit” button is still missing. She’s a work in progress, and honestly, we think she’s convinced sitting is optional for beings as majestic as she is.Inside? More hops. Always more hops.If you don’t laugh at least once, she will refund you in kisses. She is a little bit of a bull in a china shop—mostly because she doesn’t realize she IS the china shop. But she’s gentle, sweet, and wants nothing more than to be all up in your personal space.Loud noises can spook her, and on walks she pulls—and yes—bounces like an excited toddler on a sugar rush. Consider her both a workout buddy and a tripping hazard. (You’ve been warned.)But when she’s done practicing her dance moves, she would LOVE nothing more than to flop on your couch and pretend she’s a lap dog.If your home is missing a very large, very silly, very bouncy bunny-dog combo…She’s your girl!-Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper intros Unknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids •Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt •Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment. •Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in. •There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption. •To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering. **And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.** •The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-5:30 **1431 E Ferry St. Detroit

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Meet the magnificent Miss Hetti. She is a playful, energy abundant Mastiff, and likely, boxer mix. She loves tummy rubs, fetch, and Benebone chew toys. Hetti thrives on multiple walks per day however can over heat quickly in higher temps. She is very strong and still learning manners with passing animals so an experienced handler and dog owner is a must. She loves greeting people but due to her size and still puppy behaviors, a house with kids over 12 is preferred. For Hetti to live her best life she should be a solo canine with a large fenced yard and an active owner willing to give her the exercise and attention she needs.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. December 6, 2025, 5:05 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Chance, one of our newest arrivals at the Mikey & Me Kennels in Chelsea for Happy Days Rescue. Chance is a sweet boy, he’s timid when first meeting new people but he builds confidence pretty quickly once he feels safe. He has been living outside tied to a box in Ohio for the past two years. He seems timid around new noises and new places only because he hasn’t been introduced to very many situations until now.  Chance is a sweet boy, he’s about 3 years old, he has a multi-colored coat, he weighs 55-60 pounds, he walks reasonably well on leash, and he seems to want the attention of people he hasn’t yet met. He seems to do well with other nice dogs too. Chance will be seen at Village Animal Clinic in Dexter where he will be fully vaccinated, receive a heart worm test, and he will have a microchip placed for his safety. Neuter surgery for Chance will be scheduled soon thereafter. If you would like to meet Chance and feel you can offer him a stable home, please submit an adoption application under his name at  happydaysdogandcatrescue.org . Thanks! Dan DePew Mikey & Me   Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.    Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 1, 2025, 6:51 am
