Story
💕 Meet Girlie! I am so pleased to introduce you to a really special and unique kitty cat...me! My name is Girlie and yes, I am a girls girl! I’m not going to mince words, I’ve been through it. I’m a 9-year-old calico who’s part fighter, part princess, and 100% love bug. I once had a wonderful home and a kitty best friend, but when my friend went missing and my guardian had to move several times, my world fell apart. I became anxious, scared, and started having accidents outside the litter box, my way of saying, “I’m not okay.” Listen, I'm not embarrassed to admit that. I am a cat, I cannot speak human language, and this is how we communicate that something is wrong. Life didn’t get easier, things only got worse. I got very sick and was finally brought to High Country Humane, where the amazing medical and behavior teams have helped me heal, find comfort, and remember what it feels like to be safe. I’m affectionate, love to be brushed, and will curl up in your lap once I trust you. I’m on medication to help manage my anxiety, and while I might always have accidents, my heart is pure gold. I’m just waiting for someone to see me, to love me as I am. I am hoping your love of me will outweigh those little mistakes here and there. I know my second chance is just waiting for me. Could that someone be you? 💛

Story
Meet Sherrie, a gorgeous long-haired girl with a tender heart and a lot of love to give.Sherrie was transferred to us from another rescue that stepped in to save her just before she was scheduled for euthanasia, after she was deemed “unadoptable.” Her behavior - such as flinching when hands are raised - suggests she may have experienced abuse or rough handling earlier in life.Despite her difficult past, Sherrie is a truly sweet and affectionate kitty who seeks out attention and enjoys being petted. She is an indoor-only cat who may be shy at first, but with patience and gentle handling, she warms up and forms strong bonds. Sherrie would do best in a calm home with a compassionate adopter and older children who understand how to interact kindly and respectfully with cats.If you’re looking to give a beautiful, deserving kitty the second chance she was given - and a loving forever home - Sherrie would love to meet you.
