Story
[gallery_adoption] Hello fans, I'm Kaia! I'm a big floofy lady with the long black locks of my Maine Coon cousins, just a bit smaller. You can tell by my tipped-ear crown that I've had to survive on the street and have earned every jewel in it! But now I'm loving the inside life and am sooo ready for my new family. My confidence goes beyond that of Party Animal and right into royalty, so my friends call me Queen Kaia. Or simply Her Floofiness! I'm the first one to meet you at the door and the first one ready for snuggles (as long as it's not on my tummy but hey, what queen would allow that?!). I'll be right there next to you like any Kitty Admin, purring my little whiskers off. At only about 2 years old, I'm still curious and playful like any young cat. My favorite kitty wand right now is the Cat Dancer but I will love any toy that you're on the other end of. I love to be brushed, so you should be able to help me keep my luscious coat in catwalk condition. I should do well in just about any human family, as I like kids of all ages. But like any queen, no other animal can compete with my sheer presence, so I'll do best in a home where I don't have to lower myself to any competition, thank you very much 😻. I can be adopted for $100 which includes my spay, vaccinations, microchips, food and litter starter kit, and a free well-kitty checkup with our wonderful partner vets to help you get started. I am Biscuit Factory Ambassador who is staying at our partner the Biscuit Factory Cat Lounge with the other Happy Cats peasants, whom I'm tolerating. Barely. Please tap here to find out more about this cat cafe in Old Colorado City. You can tap here to fill out an Adoption Application https://happycatshaven.org/adoption-application/. I am available immediately, so if you need to contact someone more quickly, please call 719-362-4600 and we’ll do our best to get back to you within 48 hours.

Story
Every week, our staff picks special cats in need of loving homes. And the best part? Their adoption fee is waived! *a $20 license fee may applyBrielle is a lovely cat and we have greatly enjoyed having her. She is still shy, but has come a long way in warming up and learning home life is the high life. She prefers to spend most of her day in her comfort room, but greatly enjoys visits, both human and furry. She is not fond of being held, but loves her people to sit on the floor next to her and pet her all up. She has been very sweet to our resident dogs and cats, and absolutely loves treats such as wet food and tuna. She would make a wonderful, calm kitty addition to any home, but I would recommend a home without small children, as Brielle can be shy.**Brielle came to us with a missing/micro eye as seen in her picture. It does not appear to cause her any discomfort at this time but it is recommended to discuss with your primary care veterinarian for any further monitoring or treatments.** Please contact Brielle`s foster mom, Tatiana, tatianarweis@gmail.com to inquire about Brielle or set up a visit. Please allow up to 24 hours for Tatiana to respond.

** Staff and volunteers have been working with me on building my confidence, you’ll need to keep helping with that!****I may do best in a quiet/more mature home**Bristol will need ample time to adjust to his new home. Placing him in his own sanctuary room with food, water, bed, toys, scratching post, and litter box will help him adapt. This room should be quiet with hiding places as well as some perches. Once Bristol has acclimated to the room a slow introduction to other animals and the rest of the house can begin. He will require a lot of patience!

Story
***Staff thinks I will be ready by late September. My foster family says, `Hello, I`m Samantha, a little kitten with a big heart. I may seem shy at first, but that`s because I`m still learning about the world. I`ve been spending my days exploring my surroundings, getting to know the other cats, and learning to trust humans. It`s been a journey, but I`m getting braver every day. My favorite things are soft blankets, yummy treats, and gentle pats. I`m still growing and learning, but I`m ready for my forever home. With patience and love, I`ll be your best friend. Adopt me and let`s grow together.`** I am not currently at the shelter because I`m growing big and strong in a foster home! You can sign up to pre-adopt me by placing a $50 choice hold. This is a non-refundable fee that does not go towards my adoption fee, but it does give you the first opportunity to adopt me. Shelter staff will contact you when I’m ready to go home with my new family! To place a choice hold, you can either come into the shelter or call us at 719-473-1741; you may wait to speak with a customer service representative or leave a voicemail. Choice holds are placed on a first-come, first-serve basis and only one choice hold can be placed on an animal. Once I am old enough to go home, I will have to be adopted at the shelter without a visit. Unfortunately, we aren’t able to visit while I’m in the foster home as it’s a lot of stress on me to be transported back and forth to the shelter for visits, which makes me more susceptible to getting sick. We want to be healthy for our new life together!
