Story
All Pet Central animals are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped (registration included), and current on parasite prevention. Dogs over six-months of age are heartworm tested. When adopting, we will ensure that you receive copies of veterinary and microchip records. Records are sent via email. Paper versions are available upon request. If you are interested in this pet, please fill out the brief Adopter Survey by hitting "Apply for Adoption" on the profile above. After we review your completed survey, we will contact you by phone or email within three business days. Please note- Out of respect for our volunteers and staff, we are closed on Sunday and Monday and will not be processing any applications on those days. Please get back to us right away when we call or email regarding an application so that we can quickly connect using the process below: Select a pet and submit an online adoption survey. A PCH! adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH! cannot guarantee any pet's availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions). An adoption counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents). After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH! adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and/or a leash to pick up and their ID. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. It is important that clients arrive on time, neither early nor late. Cats and kittens are required to leave in a pet carrier. If your adoption is scheduled at Pet Central Helps!: Upon arrival inside the Crossroads Center complex (360 Wylie Drive), look for the black Pet Central Helps! semi-trailer, which is right outside of our facility (Suite 720). Park in the parking lot and enter the facility. A PCH! representative will greet you and show you to the adoption room. Your new pet will be handed to you. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at PetSmart – Bloomington, IL: Park in the PetSmart (1606 E. Empire St.) Parking lot and enter the store. We will be set up just inside the store entrance. Let us know you are here to pick up your pet! A PCH! representative will confirm your information and hand you your pet. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at the Cat’s Meow Cafe: Navigate to PetSmart, park in the parking lot and enter the store. Locate a PCH! Representative at our adoption table and let them know you are picking up a Cat Cafe Cat. You will sign your final contract with your counselor and snap a picture of the completed screen. Head to the Cat’s Meow Cafe at 507 N. Hershey Rd and provide them with the snapshot of your final contract. They will get your cat and take a “Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. PCH! supports a 30-day no-fault return policy in which adopters are given the opportunity to find a better match. If we cannot provide advice/tools to keep a pet in the home we offer these options: Exchange for a pet that may be a better match** Receive a refund minus a $40 processing fee** With this approach, we can often turn mismatches into opportunities! Thank you, Pet Central Helps!

Story
When Reba first came into our care, she was barely hanging on—just over 3 pounds, with painful sores in her mouth, deep wounds on her paws, and a matted coat that had to be shaved off. But this senior girl had a spark in her, and we knew she deserved a second chance. Months later, Reba made a stunning transformation. Her coat grew back beautifully, her mouth is now pain-free (all her teeth have been removed—but don’t worry, she still loves her dry food!), and those once-wounded paws now carry her proudly as she explores her world. Reba spent a few months in a loving home, but she let us know she’s happiest in a calmer, slower-paced environment. She’s now looking for a true retirement home—a peaceful place where she can relax, feel safe, and be adored just as she is. Reba isn’t a lap cat, but she’s a gentle, steady presence who enjoys affection on her own terms—usually once a day, when the world is quiet and she’s ready for love. She’s also delightfully food-motivated and can always be coaxed out with her favorite crunchy treats. If you have a calm home and a kind heart for a cat who’s earned her golden years in peace, Reba will be your quiet companion and constant reminder of how resilience and love can bring even the most fragile spirits back to life.

Story
Eden may be a young mom, but she’s already perfected the art of sweetness. This long-haired tuxedo beauty is on the petite side, which only adds to her charm. She adores gentle attention, happily leans into pets, and has been doing wonderfully with other cats in her foster home. Eden is ready for her own fresh start—a calm, loving home where she can finally enjoy being someone’s cherished companion. If you’re looking for a tender, affectionate girl with a soft heart, Eden is your match.

Story
Hocus is a stunning 5-year-old long-haired black cat with the silkiest coat (now that we’ve freed it from the mats his previous home left behind!). He came to us after being thrown outside when a new dog in the home didn’t like him—absolutely not cool—but he hasn’t let that rough patch dim his sweet personality one bit. Hocus is friendly, social, and loves both people and other cats. He gets along beautifully with his sister Pocus, though they don’t need to be adopted together. He’s calm, confident, and has that classic “house panther elegance” down to an art. We’re still working through a few remaining mats, but he’s already looking gorgeous and feeling much better. Hocus is ready for a home that will treat him with the love, kindness, and respect he’s always deserved.
