Story
On a farm Im used to timid cats, but Teddy introduced himself. Around the first snowfall he made a very insistent and loud plea for shelter that was hard to ignore. During visits to his quarantined basement we have further confirmed that this is not a boy suited for the rugged outdoor life! He is food driven, but will disregard it completely for attention. He is very sweet and affectionate, which pairs well with his fluffy and soft exterior. He can be a bit awkward and slow to come around to the social cues of those around him, but with no aggression. As of now he cautiously tolerates dogs but loves every human who comes in contact with him (bonus points if you have treats). Most surprisingly, he has not caused any ruckus despite the long stretches of boredom, and has even let us groom him + clip his nails! The young chap is even litter box trained. Id keep him but we have a full house! (trying to catch up on shots and neuter, + will also update w eventual meeting of other cats)

Story
3 month old femaleIf you are reading this information, it is because the cat came to us with no background history, and we haven’t had enough time with the cat to know if they like other cats, dogs or kids yet. It does take time for cats to adjust to the shelter. It is best to come in and meet the cat in person to know what you think of their personality while you are here. We do recommend you bring small children in to meet the cats, we tend to find that most cats will choose the children and be the best of friends. We will give you information on how to properly introduce cats together. All our cats use the litterbox but that does not imply that we know what they’ll do in a different environment. Please bring along a crate for your adopted friend. We do have cardboard carriers at the shelter as well for $7.50 plus tax. We also ask that you bring landlord permission, and that declawing is not recommended.

Story
**Currently at Willmar PetsmartAinsley 4yr Long Hair Female. Mix of sweet and sassy! Everything feels a bit off to her as she had to be shaved from the matts to sometimes the touch on her skin feels strange since she hasn`t felt it in so long. She would love a home where she can have perches to watch the world. She loves to be lounging in her cat bed. Ainsley unfortunately lost her ear due to frostbite. Find us on Facebook to be updated on events and shelter news or visit us at WWW.THEHSKMC.COM. Cats up for adoption at the Hawk Creek Animal Shelter are spayed/neutered, microchipped, FELV/FIV tested negative (unless noted). Initial vaccinations are given (a booster may be needed), also flea prevention and deworming. Please walk in as we do not accept applications online, we do same day adoptions (if approved via staff) and forms are filled out at our shelter. A cat carrier is a must to take a cat home; we have cardboard cat carriers for $7.50 plus tax. Please visit our website for prices and more information about our hours. If you have questions, please click the inquiry button, email (shelter@thehskmc.com) or call us (320-235-7612) and we’ll answer the best we can. Adoption fees are not waived unless noted in this description. Some of our animals are located at PetSmart Willmar. The prices are very minimally different.
