Beauty from Ashes too! This is Easter (approx. 1.5 year old) .  Eastern is one of 2 kitties still in our rescue from a horrid hoarding situation in February 24.  She has grown so much in her socialization.   Once hiding and scared,  now finds her way next to you on the couch or in your bed.  Easter is a special girl. Mail: adopt@solaspetadoption.org for more infoJanuary 10, 2025, 9:47 am

Story
Poppy was a stray taken in by a kind citizen in. She is presumed by our vet to be 8+years old.She is a very sweet girl who adores chin scratches, gentle clicking noises, and sweet words being whispered to her, mostly at your bedtime. She will most likely claim a spot in your bed if allowed. She enjoys long cat naps in dark secluded spots, I.e. under beds, in closets, under couches, etc.; however, these characteristics do not discourage her from getting the attention she wants. She is a wise young lady with the perfect balance of seeking attention and wanting alone time. While in foster care, Poppy has been around kittens under 9 months, a yorkie mix (15 pounds, 12 years old), and was briefly around a male cat (around 3 years old). All was tolerated well with no issues to report.  Popy has  heart murmur so is considered special needs.  Adoption donation $50 email: adopt@solaspetadoption.org for more information. January 10, 2025, 4:29 pm

Story
Here comes Pebblez, a friendly LongHair cat who is ready for her second chance (b. July 2022)! Pebblez is friendly with everyone - dogs, cats, strangers and kids of all ages.  She enjoys being active and playing with her toys.  If you're lucky, she might cuddle up beside you when she gets to know you.  Pebblez is a little particular with her food and will enjoy having her own personal space for dining.  She is litter trained and looking for a house where she'll get lots of love!   The suggested adoption donation for Pebblez is $65, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc.   If the dog or cat you adopt is older than 6 months of age and not spayed or neutered, you will receive a voucher to alter the pet at Val Verde Animal Hospital in Omaha, at no cost to you.  Or you can alter the pet at your own vet and be reimbursed $100 for dogs, and $50 for cats, of total cost.  If the dog or cat is younger than 6 months of age, adopter will be responsible for the cost of altering the pet at the vet of their choice.  If proof of alter is received by Muddy Paws prior to the pet turning 6 months of age, a reimbursement of $100 for dogs and $50 for cats, will be sent to you to help cover expenses.  All puppies and kittens MUST be spayed or neutered by 6 months of age.  All dogs and cats MUST be spayed or neutered no later than one month after adoption is finalized.  Thank you in advance for your compliance. ##2118286##

Story
Meet Toula, a young kitty (born 9/2023) who loves cuddling and spending time with her brother Tupac. She can be shy at first, especially around men, but her sweet nature shines once she gets used to new people. She and Tupac are a perfect dynamic duo - she likes relaxing, while her brother likes playing. They're both litter-trained, get along other cats, and are good with kids.  Toula and Tupac would love a home with someone who's had cats before and can spend time playing with and snuggling with them.  The suggested adoption donation for Toula and Tupac is $120, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE.
