Story
Chalupa, spayed female, long hair torbie, born 4/9/23. Chalupa is the sweetest special needs kitty, having been exposed to toxoplasmosis and treated, with lasting effects in the neurological and breathing areas. But she is as happy as they come and don't have a thought she is even affected. She plays, she climbs eats, sleeps, and uses the bathroom quite normally.  She also takes minimal medication like liver supplement. And she adores her treat time - she comes scurrying across the floor in her cute special way she does. Chalupa can live a long, healthy life. Won't you give a special needs kitty a chance at happiness in a loving home? Ask for as many pictures and videos as you want. You may just find yourself falling for her as I have.   Thank you.  The adoption fee is $100. This covers the cost of spay/neuter, PVR, Rabies, flea, tick, ear mite and worm treatment. To adopt, you need to first fill out an application. Go to: https://rutherfordcountyhumanesociety.org/cat-adoption-application/ We are located in Western North Carolina. Optional transport is weekly.  After your application is approved, we will contact you regarding cost and delivery if you so desire.April 22, 2024, 5:40 pm

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meow, dear humans! My name is Madison, and I'm here to share a little piece of my story with you. At a little over a year old, I may be considered a young adult, but I've already learned the importance of love, comfort, and companionship. Let's start with the basics - I'm a gorgeous longhaired brown and white tabby, with fur as soft as silk and eyes that hold a hint of warmth. At 7.5 pounds, I may be slightly larger than my sister, but I've got just as much love to give. Now, let's talk about my personality. I'm very sweet and loving, with a touch of shyness that makes me all the more endearing. While I may not be as bold as some of my feline friends, I'm definitely more approachable than my sister, Megan. I enjoy gentle petting and cuddles, especially when the sun is shining and I can curl up in a cozy spot with my sister by my side. Although I can have a bit more of an active side compared to Megan, I'm mostly a calm cat who prefers the simple pleasures in life. A lap to sit in, a gentle touch, and the warmth of the sun - that's all I need to feel content. My journey began when I and my sister were found as strays, trapped by our local animal control. Despite our circumstances, we remained friendly and open to the kindness of humans, which ultimately led us to the shelter where we found safety and care. When it comes to companionship, I get along famously with other cats and children. As for dogs, well, we haven't had the opportunity to test the waters yet, but with the proper introduction and a calm or older dog, I believe I could adjust just fine. Before you come to meet me at the shelter, please be sure to submit your adoption application online first. This helps ensure that we find the perfect match for each other and that my future family is fully prepared to welcome me into their hearts and homes. Oh, and one more thing - all of us shelter animals come home spayed/neutered, up to date on all vaccinations, and microchipped. So you can rest assured knowing that I'm ready to embark on this new adventure with you, fully equipped and ready to make memories that will last a lifetime. So, if you're looking for a loyal companion who's equal parts sweet, gentle, and downright adorable, look no further than yours truly, Madison. I can't wait to meet you and show you just how amazing life can be with a furry friend like me by your side! Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meow, humans! My name is Umbreon, and I'm here to share a little glimpse of my world with you. At 9 months old, I may still be considered a kitten, but I've already learned a thing or two about the joys of companionship and play. Let's start with the basics - I'm a beautiful longhaired black cat with a charming little white locket on my chest. At 6 pounds, I may be petite, but I've got a heart as big as the moon and enough love to share with everyone around me. Now, let's talk about my personality. I've only recently arrived at the shelter, so you could say I'm still getting used to this new environment. But despite being new, I'm really sweet and love to show my affection to humans. My fur is soft and silky, perfect for cuddling up close! I can be quite talkative at times, especially when I'm trying to get your attention for playtime or snuggles. I have a feeling I'll be a snuggly cat too once I warm up to my new home and family. As for other furry friends, I haven't had the chance to meet any other cats yet, but I'm eager to give it a try! I imagine I'll do well with a slow introduction and a little patience from my new family. When it comes to kids, I do well with older ones who understand kitty boundaries. And as for dogs, well, I've had some experience with them, and I get along just fine! Before you come to meet me at the shelter, please be sure to submit your adoption application online first. This helps ensure that we find the perfect match for each other and that my future family is fully prepared to welcome me into their hearts and homes. Now, when it comes to being sociable, that's my forte. I absolutely adore people and thrive on human interaction. I'm the type of cat who will greet you at the door and follow you around for some attention. I get along famously with other cats. If you have feline friends at home, I'm more than happy to join the crew and make new buddies. Affectionate? You bet! I'm a certified lap cat. There's nothing I love more than curling up in your lap for cuddles and purring contentedly. And guess what? I'm a pro when it comes to using the litterbox.
