Story
Keto is a fluffy, orange 8 year old boy with a heart as big as his appetite. Diagnosed with diabetes, he navigates life with courage, charm, and a little help from his humans. Despite his condition, Keto remains playful and affectionate, often found lounging in sunbeams or demanding head scratches. His signature purr can melt stress in seconds, and his resilience inspires everyone he meets. A true warrior in a ginger fur coat, Keto is proof that even the coziest of kitties can live life to the fullest—one insulin shot at a time. He does require insulin twice daily at this time, but we are hoping with better diet control that we an help eliminate his dependency on insulin! This sweet 8 year old boy has a $100 adoption fee. All cats adopted through our rescue are age appropriately vaccinated including rabies & FVRCP/Feline Leukemia vaccines, dewormed & free of fleas, combo tested (negative unless otherwise noted), microchipped and spayed/neutered before adoptions are finalized. If you would like to adopt, please fill out the application through the link or the website at -www.whiskersofohio.org - please note that the "I'm interested" tab on Petfinder does NOT act as an application, this should only be used for specific questions before committing to an adoption. You will receive an email confirmation when your application goes through. We make no breed guarantees; we are a rescue, not a breeder. Please only apply for a specific kitten if you are committed to adopting! Our workers are all volunteers and it takes time to process applications. We are a registered, volunteer run 501c3 non-profit organization. Free transport is regularly available to Wayne/Holmes County areas! We do have the ability to fly a cat or pair of kittens via Southwest's SWATT program to any location served by Southwest Airlines. It isn't free but has been a great way to transport animals in a timely manner.

Story
Oscar was born on January 22, 2023, and I have had him since he was a kitten. He is curious, energetic, and always on the move. He tends to play rough and doesn’t always know when to stop, often biting or scratching in a way that feels playful but can be constant. He gets overstimulated easily and struggles to fully relax, though he can cuddle for short periods on his own terms. Oscar does not do well with other animals and has had a hard time adjusting to a multi-pet household. He becomes anxious and reactive, often hissing or swatting when he is fearful or overwhelmed. He is also very cautious around strangers and takes time to feel comfortable with new people. In October 2023, Oscar had surgery after a sacroiliac luxation and pelvic fracture. He underwent a left femoral head ostectomy and has physically recovered well, but the experience was stressful and likely contributed to his ongoing sensitivity to his environment.

Story
Tundra is available for adoption! This adorable girl is about 9 weeks old, and she is currently living with her sister Nome in a foster home in the Columbus area. If you can’t adopt, please help by sharing this post! Tundra has tested negative for FIV/FeLV and will be current on age-appropriate vaccines up through the adoption date. Adopter(s) will be responsible for any vaccines needed beyond that date. If the spay/microchip procedure hasn’t been performed prior to adoption (due to age/size), a certificate will be provided upon adoption for use through a local vet clinic. If you’re located in central Ohio, and you’re interested in meeting and adopting Tundra and/or Nome, submit an application via our website. Applicants can also request to foster-to-adopt (meaning a cat can be fostered on a trial basis before making a decision to adopt). Email contactusforgotten4paws@yahoo.com with any questions.
