Story
Scarlett was born on my parents farm and I adopted her and my roommate adopted her littermate. Scarlett was a wonderful cat for me living as a single person but unfortunately when I married my husband and we moved in with he and his dogs, Scarlett was not happy. We had our son 18 months ago and she has become more and more withdrawn and seems anxious around him. I am pregnant again and she has begun pooping outside the litter box (I believe as a side effect of her anxiety since she never did this before) which is a problem. She is a good cat and thrives in a home where she is the only pet. I love her so much and want to give her the best life possible for her remaining years.

Story
DOB: 12/18/2013 "Ah, you scared me!" I startle, my fluffy black coat fluffing up at the sudden intrusion. My name? Slinky Dink. It's got a certain ring to it, doesn't it? Though I'm not quite sure where it came from, it feels right, like a snug blanket on a chilly night. You see, I'm not like your average cat. I've had my fair share of adventures, wandering the streets and alleyways, weaving through the shadows with grace and stealth. But now, at ten years old, I find myself in unfamiliar territory, rescued from the uncertainty of the great outdoors. I may be a senior in years, but my spirit is as lively as ever, despite the fear that grips me at times. It's hard to trust when you've spent so long fending for yourself in the cold embrace of solitude. Yet, deep down, I long for companionship, for a gentle hand to guide me through the darkness. I may need time to adjust, to unravel the mysteries of this new chapter in my life. But with patience and understanding, I believe I can learn to trust again, to let my guard down and embrace the warmth of human kindness. After all, even the most timid souls crave love and acceptance. So, if you're willing to take a chance on a scaredy-cat like me, I promise to repay your kindness with endless purrs and affection. Together, we can embark on a journey of healing and discovery, one paw step at a time. And who knows? Maybe with your help, I'll find the courage to emerge from the shadows and bask in the light of a loving home.   Come meet me at the cage-free Adoption Center! All cats are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and tested for FIV/FeLV. **If interested in adopting me, please fill out an online adoption application at https://colonycats.org/adoption_app.html to expedite the process. Story
FIV+Meet Bryson, the epitome of feline charm and resilience! This senior sweetheart has overcome a tough past and is now ready to bring warmth and joy into your home. Brought to Colony Cats on April 27, 2024, after being found as a friendly stray, Bryson has blossomed into a loving and loyal companion. Bryson's beautiful pale orange fur and soulful eyes are just the beginning of his many wonderful qualities. Despite arriving with matted fur, ear and eye infections, and broken canines, Bryson has shown incredible resilience and a gentle spirit. He also tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), which affects his immune system and contributed to his initial health challenges. But don't worry—with the right care, FIV+ cats like Bryson can lead long, healthy, and happy lives. Keeping him indoors and providing regular veterinary check-ups will help ensure his continued well-being. Bryson is on the mend and is now neutered and vaccinated, making him ready for his forever home. Due to the loss of many teeth, he will need soft food and regular dental care, but this special diet is a small price to pay for the love and affection he will bring into your life. Volunteers describe Bryson as an absolute gem—gentle, relaxed, and incredibly affectionate. His low-energy, easy-going nature makes him the perfect companion for a calm and peaceful household. Imagine cozying up with Bryson as he purrs contentedly by your side, his presence a constant source of comfort and love. Bryson's sweet and serene demeanor means he gets along well with everyone he meets. He might move a bit slower, but his heart is full of love and gratitude, ready to share with a family that will cherish him. If you are looking for a cat that will bring a sense of tranquility and endless affection into your home, Bryson is your perfect match. Adopt Bryson, and you'll gain a loyal friend who will fill your life with warmth and joy. Open your heart to Bryson and experience the unconditional love only a special cat like him can offer. Come meet me at the cage-free Adoption Center!
