Story
Maggie is a beautiful long-haired kitty who has had a wonderful kittenhood with a wonderful lady who unfortunately passed away quite suddenly. This situation has been so tragic for Maggie and her sister Abbie. They had such a fantastic home with a cat mom who loved them dearly and who they loved back unconditionally! Cats are creatures of habit and such tragic situations can be extremely stressful to them! They are in a very nice foster home, but I’m sure that they are still very confused by the sudden change in their happy lives. Maggie had an eye surgery as a young kitten, but other than a slight squint, she appears to be fine now. We would definitely like Maggie to be adopted with her sister Abbie because she is a bit shy and really depends on her sister for support. They have both been microchipped, fully vetted, spayed, and treated for fleas, ticks, worms, etc. Both of these girls are beautiful and easy to deal with, so if you have it in your heart to give them a second chance at happiness, please apply for them at Bedford Humane Society. They will give you so much joy in return. For more information, please call the Bedford Humane Society at 540-586-6100, or go to https://www.bhsva.org/adoptables to fill out an adoption application.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Narcissa ("Cissy") is blind and deaf, but she doesn't let that stop her from leading a full and happy life! She uses her whiskers to find her way around and manages quite well. She is super affectionate with a hearty purrbox; she loves to be held, and when you put her down, she'll come back for more loving. Narcisa should be adopted with her foster sister Bella. Note: since her profile pictures were taken, she has had one eye removed. Narcissa's adoption fee is $75. Many cats do so much better in pairs, which is why we offer a reduced adoption fee of $25 for the second cat (or more!). Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in this animal? The first step is an application, which can be completed at www.cvrrescue.org/adoption-applications/. The adoption fee helps cover a portion of the care provided for our animals, including spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm testing for dogs, FeLV/FIV combo testing for cats, deworming, age-appropriate vaccines (including rabies vaccine), and any medical care received while in our care. All cats and dogs are on flea/tick and parasite prevention for the duration of foster care. Notes about puppies: Adopters can expect a new puppy to have accidents, chew things they shouldn't, and have other normal, energetic puppy issues until they are trained, including jumping, mouthing, and general youthful naughtiness. If you experience puppy issues, please feel free to contact us; we’re happy to offer guidance. Also, if a puppy is a mixed breed, we cannot guarantee an adult weight. If your residence has weight restrictions or if you’re looking for a specific adult weight, we don't recommend applying for a mixed-breed puppy. We also offer rehoming services for pets currently owned by individuals. In these cases, we list the animal as a courtesy to the owner, and the animal is not currently in the care of CVRR, such that we can make no representation or guarantee of the animal’s behavior, demeanor, or health assessment. All information listed for a courtesy-posted animal is provided by the current owner and should be verified by any potential adopter. CVRR is a nonprofit organization. We have no paid staff, and all applications are reviewed and processed by our volunteers. Please be patient and understand that it may take 7-14 days to process your application, check your references, and gather follow-up info. You can expedite the process by providing accurate phone numbers and email addresses for your vet and landlord references, and by answering each question fully. Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if the animal picks you, too. If it seems the adoption will be a good match for all, we will collect the adoption fee and complete the adoption contract. CVRR is a NO KILL rescue organization, and we have a LIFETIME COMMITMENT to all of our animals. If for any reason the adoption does not work out, the animal must be returned to CVRR. We will reevaluate the animal and choose a new home based on the best fit for it. May 1, 2024, 10:25 pm

Story
I got her as a kitten from a bad living situation she was so spunky and funny, once my child got alittle older and louder I started to notice a change though in her personality and she was started to act out by peeing on our blankets, towels, bed and sometimes our furniture. This issue has been happening on and off for about 1 and a half and with a second on the way I worry it’s going to be too much for her. I think she would be happy being an indoor/outdoor cat but sadly since we are in an apartment that isn’t an option for us. She is super sweet and loving and licks my hand and has the softest fur and I hate to let her go. But I can’t have my newborn have any cat pee around. We have another cat that she gets along with but is submissive too, they don’t fight or anything like that but she doesn’t like any dog but she just runs away or hisses so it’s not a huge problem. I believe her being forced inside all the time has made her act out. I’d just want her to be happy and loved!
