Story
Willow, so young, so beautiful, and been through so much in her short life of just 2 years old. Raising two liters of kittens, fending for herself at times outside, and not sure what each day will bring this lovely girl is ready for stability. She is ready for a family who will cherish and adore her! She loves her toys, especially a mouse filled with catnip, and can entertain herself for long periods of time polishing those hunting skills! Breakfast must always consist of some wet food, and she will show her appreciation by leaning into your hand for pets while being told how gorgeous she is. A cat tree in front of the window is her number one place to hang out watching the birds and taking afternoon naps. Willow does good with calm dogs who respect her space, but if any silly rambunctious business is going on she will show the dog who is boss. This girl is small and mighty! Cats are a different story! She doesn’t like other cats so a home where she can be the forever only kitty is a must! Occasionally Willow will wake up on the wrong side of the bed, haven’t we all, and her moody side will show, but not for long. Once she has had her catnip coffee, breakfast and a mouse toy to fling around she is back to her sweet self! Since she can be nippy when like this a home with young children wouldn’t best suit her. Before coming into rescue, she was used to spending a lot of time outside so a nice spacious yard is a must for this girl. She promises to keep those pesky mice at bay and catch those annoying bugs! If you’re ready to open your heart, soul, and home to the most wonderful lady Willow is your girl! She is in Palmer. Please call 907-350-8089!

Story
Mr Mango! He’s a sweet boy, who once had a loving family and then he found himself on his own struggling outside. Since coming into rescue, he has made a transformation! He’s very very talkative and loves spending time with his people once he’s warmed up to you. And oh boy is he a snuggler at best! When he’s not soaking up all the cuddles, he enjoys sitting at the top of the cat tree and keeping an eye on everyone. He is not afraid to let you know when he’s hungry, as he will meow meow meow meow until he’s satisfied. He takes a while to get used to a strange place but loves exploring his surroundings once he has. Mango is VERY wary of dogs at first but doesn’t mind them if they don’t bother him too much once comfortable. He doesn’t play much with the other cats, but he doesn’t mind them checking him out or enjoying the cat tree with him so a kitty friend in his new home would be great. And as for little humans, he is great with kids of all ages! He has a wonderful awesome orange coat that is still a little patchy from the mats he had, but when it’s all grown out watch out! What an eye catcher he will be fore sure. A safe yard during the summer is a must for this sweet boy. Mango would make a great addition to any home! He is 10 years old and waiting for his final furever family! He is in Wasilla. Please call 907-350-8089.

Story
Shelly (A140910) is a 10-month-old DSH available for adoption!01/22/26 This beautiful dilute orange tabby is Shelly! Shelly arrived at the shelter with a group of kitties, including one who we suspect is her sister Tilly. Both these ladies are available for adoption! They are not the most socialized ladies but have been making good choices while at the shelter. We hope that in a calm home setting, they will truly let their personalities shine through. We do not know their experience level with children or other animals; other than that, they came from a home with other kitties. While at the shelter, they have used their litterboxes consistently and have had healthy appetites. We encourage their next owners to look up the rule of three when bringing a new pet into the home and not to be discouraged if they initially hide while they settle in. If you are interested in meeting Shelly, please let us know! January 24, 2026, 11:31 pm

Story
Granite (A138677) is a 4-year-old DMH who weighed 19 pounds on intake but is extremely overweight. 01/22/26 Granite, previously known as Margie, was surrendered back to the shelter because she is hoping to find a home where she is the only pet. Granite was said to enjoy her space and would get a little grumpy when the other pets in the home invaded it. With that being said she was said to do well with people of all ages including babies and children! She was described as super loving and affectionate with people. Granite was said to use her litterbox consistently, but does need a size-appropriate box as she is a large cat. She has lost a few pounds since last being at our facility but is still very overweight. It is important that her next home continue her weight loss and discuss with their vet the best ways to help her shed the pounds. If you are interested in meeting Granite and have no other critters in your home, please let us know! 06/17/25 This big lady is Margie! Margie arrived at the shelter as a stray and is now looking for her new place to call home. Due to her weight issues, Margie appeared to have difficulty grooming her rear end, so she received a sani trim at the shelter. Helping her shed those pounds will immensely improve her attitude and health. We encourage her next owner to work with their vet and to bring her in for regular weight checks to track her progress. At the shelter, Margie has been a bit of a picky eater but does enjoy her wet food, which will help with weight loss. Feeding her small meals throughout the day is a great way to keep her metabolism going! Margie has used her litterbox well at the shelter but was declawed prior to arriving at our facility. Providing her with a size-appropriate litterbox and making sure she is comfortable with the litter choice is important. We do not know if Margie has experience around children or other animals. She may do best in a quieter home setting where she feels at ease. If you are interested in meeting Margie, please let us know! January 22, 2026, 10:32 pm
