No appointments are necessary and you can come and see us any time we are open. Please go to our website (www.azfriends.org) to fill out a consultation form then come and see us! We do require any family interested in meeting our dogs or cats to fill out a consultation form – this form helps us determine if the dog/cat and the home are a good match, since it is so easy to fall in love with a photo, without knowing the personality of the dog. Once you have filled out the online Adoption Consultation Form, just come in and see us (or come and see us and fill out the consultation form upon arrival)! Please note that ALL dogs and cats are available to the first home that meets the dog or cat that we feel is a good match. In order to help make the best match, we do want all family members (dogs and humans) to meet any potential new family member. Our adoption center hours are: Closed Sunday/Monday; Tuesday 10a-2p, Wednesday 3p-7p, Thursday 3p-7p, Friday 10a-2p, Saturday 10a-4p. We are located at 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert (zip code 85233).All animals are altered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, licensed (dogs). Cats tested for FELV/FIV. Dogs tested for Heartworm. All animals are available to the first family that is a good match, and if we have more than one animal who is a good match, there will be a lottery for all matches. Note that families must have come in to our adoption center and spoken with an adoption counselor prior to any lottery (when we have lotteries, they usually occur on Saturday mornings).

Story
Rolanda was adopted as a kitten from Friends for Life, but fate brought her back to us recently as a stray. This independent girl is looking for a forever home that can accommodate her outstanding personality and slight, visual impairment. Rolanda is a sweet lover and, as an older cat, she can be a bit grumpy at first, but quickly warms up to people and other mature cats. Rolanda likes her space but is drawn to friendly voices and needs cuddles. She has had a tough go at life and has the scars to prove it but that does not stop her from being a loving companion. In her forever home, she will sit next to you on the couch, hang out on the bed, and be a buddy who will always be nearby, as she is full of trust and love. She would do best by herself, but may tolerate other older, independent cats like her, and will do her best in an adult only home. Rolanda is visually impaired in one eye, but has no issues navigating stairs, cat forts and her favorite window perches to meow, squeak, and chirp at the birds outside. She relies on lifelong daily eyedrops for Glaucoma, which she tolerates well. This confident lady will need a calm and predictable home with a family that will allow her time to transition and warm up to them, but she will give her all as she seeks human contact and affection.Rolanda is currently living in a foster home so contact CatAdoptions@azfriends.org to arrange a meet and greet with her.Click the link above to see a video of Rolanda in her foster home. All animals are altered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, licensed (dogs). Cats tested for FELV/FIV. Dogs tested for Heartworm. Story
Adina is a sweet and quiet middle-aged girl with a gentle disposition. She does show her playful side on occasion, and loves both mouse and wand toys. After given some time to warm up, she is affectionate with her people and will bunt against you to encourage you to pet her. Adina has also been known to sit on a lap or two. She likes chin scratches and will even roll over for a couple of belly rubs. She is looking for her happily ever after and hopes her new family finds her soon. Adina tested positive for FIV, but is otherwise, very healthy. She can go on to live a long, healthy and happy life. Our adoption counselors can provide more information about FIV if you're not familiar with it, Adina is currently living in one of our amazing foster homes, so please contact us at CatAdoptions@azfriends.org for more information or to set up a meet and greet. All animals are altered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, licensed (dogs). Story
Hi there! My name is Mayer. I am a sweet kitten that absolutely loves cuddles. This cold, rainy season is my favorite time to curl up near the fire place with a good book and maybe even some hot cocoa. I love playing with my siblings and would love another feline friend in the home to keep up with my socialization. I can't wait to meet you at Heidi's Village today!

Check out Hazel! She is from the hoarding situation we worked and is available for adoption. She is the sweetest thing. She is very food motivated, loves her wet food! She recently had a dental, is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Hazel is great with other kitties, we do not believe she has had any exposure to dogs or small children. It is very heart warming to watch this girl explore toys and learn how to be a cat. Her estimated birth date is 4/30/15 and her adoption fee is $100.February 24, 2024, 3:47 pm

Story
My name is Bear and I’m a super chill cat! I was found as a stray but I love pets and am very affectionate and sweet. I also love being given attention. One of my favorite things is to sunbathe and look out the window. I had half of my teeth removed so I mainly only eat canned wet food. I do not get along with other cats or dogs so will have to be the only cat in the house.  Bear is tested, neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped, and had a recent dental.  His estimated birth date is 9/25/2017 and his adoption fee is $100.February 24, 2024, 3:47 pm

Story
Meet Cali! Cali is a shy girl that will need time to adjust in her new surroundings.  She is great with other cats after proper introductions.  Cali loves to explore and is constantly finding new hiding spots to nap in. When she’s had her fun playing and exploring she’ll come find you when she wants attention. She especially loves morning cuddles on the couch before her human leaves for work. Cali can’t wait to be your forever best friend! Cali would do best in a home with older children that will respect her space.  Cali is tested, spayed, vaccinated, and micro-chipped.  Her estimated birth date is 6/23/21 and her adoption fee is $100.February 24, 2024, 3:47 pm

Story
Mr. Bean and Baby are a bonded pair - looking for a new home! These two loving boys are 10 years old and lived in the same home since they were six months old, but had to be surrendered unexpectedly. They became quickly affectionate with their fosters, love to sit on laps, lay at their feet while working, and they love to play with stringy toys. They are the sweetest boys and just want to be with their person/people. They have now lived with a foster for the last month, but they are aggressive with the other cats in the home, so they need a new forever home that does not have other cats. They have lived with one small dog in the past, so they might be able to live with one again. We don’t know how they are with children.   This is a courtesy post, so please c ontact  Linda at: lm_schilling@yahoo.com .     February 21, 2024, 10:56 am
