Matisse is a beautiful long-haired tabby and white kitty who is about 4 years old.  Matisse came into the rescue from a hoarding situation where he and over 100 other cats were all living in a single-family residence. He had been living in this situation for a number of years, possibly since he was a kitten.  He was malnourished and under-socialized when he came into the rescue.  With care and patience, he has attained the appropriate weight and learned to accept love and pets, although he still is a little shy.  Matisse does have a playful side, and after he is comfortable in his environment, he enjoys playing with wand toys and other kitty toys. Changes in environment are scary to him, so upon his arrival in a new home he will need patience and gentleness while he acclimates and grows to understand that he will be safe and cared for. He does well with other cats after a proper introduction, but it is unknown how he does with dogs. Because of his difficult life experiences, he may not be a good fit in a home with very small children. This fellow has had a hard life and is looking for someone with patience and understanding that will keep him safe and love him for the rest of his life, and in return he will give you his heart.  His adoption fee is $80.July 26, 2024, 4:45 pm

Her personality is a delightful mix of playful curiosity and intelligent independence. She's a little shy, but once she gets to know you, her sweetness shines through and she enjoys being pet, although she is too shy to initiate the pets. Malibu loves to explore and discover new things, always ready for a new toy or a game of chase with her friends.  Despite her independent streak, she enjoys company and will happily spend time with you sitting nearby. Since she’s shy, a quiet home without children would be best and she will need to start off in a small room or large enclosure until she is acclimated to her new home. She gets along well with other cats and doesn’t even mind dogs as long as they are not full of energy or chase her. Hi! My name is Nimbus. I was born on 6/21/2023 (best estimate). I am such a sweet guy once I get comfortable! My foster mom says I’m so great around all types of dogs and other cats and kittens! Even if the other cats hiss or try and scratch me, I will never do it back since I’m such a good boy and want to make new friends! I will be very shy when I’m in my new home but after a few months I will come out of my shell and need someone who understands that I slowly build trust. I was found outside with my siblings. I still don’t quite trust all humans and will run and hide from you, but with some time and patience I will come around. It’s just scary for me being inside with all these weird noises and things. It would help me to have a kitty friend to show me the ropes. Please give me time to get used to all my surroundings, I am shy and scared. I may hide, and even try to hiss, but I have never tried to bite or scratch! I rarely meow so you can have so much peace in the house! I might even climb up on the bed when you’re not around. My foster mom has really tried to get me to not be so frightened, and I have gotten so much better. I love to get pets but will sometimes randomly run away from you because I’m still a bit scared and can be picked up if I’m comfortable with you! I think I would do best in a quiet home with someone that understands that I will need some time, patience, lots of love & understanding. There may be some work involved, but I promise it will all be worth it in the end, for both of us. Older children would be okay, but no small children please. I have been around small children and typically just hide until they leave because I do get a bit scared from all the noise and running (can you blame me?!). Onyx was found by a good samaritan and although he was a bit shy at first, he eventually let them hold and pet him while waiting to find his way to Home Fur Good!
