Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Clark is a handsome tuxedo boy estimated to be around 3 years old.  He and some of his family joined us just in time to make it the happ-happ-happiest Christmas ever! He is one of many local cats that came into rescue together, and although he does have an ear tip from when he was neutered, Clark is people friendly and seeking an indoor only home.     Clark has a beautiful and unique black coat, with a little sprinkling of white fur peeking out all over his black spots.  Clark is a quiet kitty, but he melts instantly when you start to pet him.  He will gladly turn his head into your hand and in no time at all he's rolled over to show you his belly and warmed to your touch.  Clark is learning how wonderful it is to be with people, he already knows and enjoys the company of other kitties and he's litterbox trained.  Clark would do best with a home that is on the quieter side, one that can give him a little time and space to come around.  We think that it won't take him long to start approaching his family for attention!   If you would like to meet Clark, please submit an adoption application for consideration through our website Adopthope.org.  Clark's adoption fee is $85 and includes his neuter, microchip, current vaccinations and a FeLV/FIV test.  Last Hope requires that all animals be kept as indoor pets only, and looks for adopters to have a history of having kept their pets altered and kept current on vaccinations and preventatives. Our adoption process includes a vet history check and a home visit.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 4, 2024, 5:23 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Introducing Alley... (aka Alley Oop - just for fun!)  Take a close look at this beautiful Dilute Tortie with White female!    Photos do not do her justice - the marbling in her fur coat is stunning - and her eyes... they are amazing!!   Alley is 4 years old and was adopted out through Last Hope Animal Rescue as a young kitten, but recently ended up coming back to our rescue, through no fault of her own. She was spayed and microchipped as a kitten, and when returned, was brought up-to-date on her vaccinations upon arrival, received a Revolution parasite treatment, and was tested again for both Feline Leukemia and FIV, and thankfully was negative for both! She was somewhat confused when first returned, but within the next couple of days in a foster's home, her sweet personality came through when she opened up to receiving lots of hugs, kisses and snuggling.   We took her out to the Petsmart Adoption Center in Waterloo, IA and she has taken the opportunity to catch up on her beauty sleep after she stretches out and then curls up on her soft blanket.  At 4-years old, she is still playful, loving, and snuggly, but in the short period of time we have had her, we believe she may be longing for a home of her own where she doesn't have to share her 'people' with any other pets,  Since being in Petsmart, we have discovered she isn't fond of the other cats in the center, or the dogs who stop by the windows... but we think she will enjoy being held and played with by older children and adults. You can stop by the Waterloo Petsmart Store, located at 1506 Flammang Dr. off San Marnan Dr. in the Crossroads Shopping Center, to see her and the other kitties who are residing in the Adoption Center in the rear of the store.  Store hours are 9-9 Monday-Saturday and 10-7 on Sundays; holiday hours vary.  Petsmart employees cannot show you the kitties residing in the adoption center, but if a LHAR volunteer happens to be cleaning and caring for the resident kitties in the AC, and has the time to let you come to spend some time with them, you might be able to meet them.   Alley's adoption fee is $85.00.  You can apply for her through our website at www.adopthope.org.  Applicants must be at least 21 years, all animals in the current home must be up-to-date with vaccinations and/or preventatives, be seen for annual wellness exams, and be kept as indoor pets only.    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 4, 2024, 5:23 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Pico and Palermo are the best of friends! These sweet brothers are around 9-10 months old and seeking one home together!  Pico is a sweet and charming kitten who is still growing into his ears!   He is a white kitten with black patches like his mom and brothers, but his are special in that they are tiger-striped!   He loves to play with his brother, Palermo. Pico loves to show off his acrobatic skill when chasing and leaping after a wand toy.  He’d be sure to score a 10 in any kitten Olympics!  Pico loves his ear, chin, and back rubs and will gaze lovingly up at you in appreciation.  This little love will amuse you with his antics and charm you with his sweet nature. Palermo’s favorite pastimes are running through tunnels, chasing after wand toys and birdwatching through a window.  When in play mode, he uses soft paws and mouth if presented with a hand, so would be good with children.  Once he’s all played out, he becomes quite a love bug and enjoys a nice warm lap to snuggle into for naps.  He’s a very outgoing little guy once he’s comfortable and has met new people both young and old with ease.  The adoption fee for Pico and Palermo is $175. This covers their neuters, current vaccinations, FeLV/FIV tests, and microchips. Last Hope requires that all animals be altered, current on vaccinations and kept as indoor pets only.  If you are interested in meeting Pico and Palermo, please fill out an application on our website at  www.adopthope.org .Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 4, 2024, 5:23 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Charles joined our rescue as a young kitten, he is now just over a year old and is still in search of the purr-fect home! This sweet little boy can be a little shy at first but once he's in your arms he's all purrs! He would do best in a quiet home with no young children or crazy pups. He would love to have another cat in his home to play with, too!  Charles has wonderfully soft fur, and distinct tabby coloring.  He has a quiet but affectionate personality, and will make a terrific addition to your home and your heart!   Charles' adoption fee is $85 and includes his neuter, microchip, current vaccinations and a FeLV/FIV test.  Last Hope requires that all animals be kept as indoor pets only, and look for adopters with a history of keeping pets altered, current on vaccinations and preventatives. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.DiabeticManny is a young-almost senior cat, at around 8.5 years old.  He came to Last Hope with the help of some wonderful people that recognized that he needed a little extra care and was truly a wonderful cat deserving of a permanent home! Manny was found to be diabetic upon joining rescue, this has been well managed with a prescription food diet (both dry and wet) and twice daily insulin injections.  Manny is a very agreeable cat, although he certainly isn't a fan of being on a "diet" and will try to sneak snacks throughout the day! Manny is wonderfully affectionate with every person that he meets, he's a volunteer favorite for giving you a hug and he definitely enjoys the company of his people.  Manny prefers to be the only pet in the home; he does not get along with other cats and seems perturbed by dogs in his space. We don't want to add any stress to his life with the diabetes concerns, so believe it best that he be the center of your world and receive all the pets and loves! Manny would be fine with children, as long as everyone is careful to monitor his sneaky snacking habits!   Manny's adoption fee is $85 and includes his neuter, microchip, current vaccinations and FeLV/FIV Testing. Manny will also come with a bottle of insulin and his current supplies for maintaining his diabetes.  Last Hope requires that all animals be kept as indoor pets only and be kept current on annual vaccinations and monthly preventatives. Our adoption process includes a vet history check and a home visit.
